New M6 owner Please help!

Posted in the engine section, not much luck...

Anyone can recommend a good BMW dealer in the UK who knows about the M5/M6 engines?

Posting on here as this sections looks a bit more active.

I just bought an M6 from BMW dealer and the car is misfiring and throwing a error message on the idrive.

I don't have a code reader yet and wanted to know what could cause the issue? Do these engine suffer from similar issues like the 335i? (i.e injectors, coilpacks, hpfp, carbon built up?)

I checked the warranty report for my car and it had brand new injectors and spark plugs fitted last year.

The car misfires and there is a strong smell of fuel. Revs are not stable.

Any ideas much appreciated guys.

I would call BMW Assist and get them to recover the vehicle, it will then get priority for the repair

As assume you have the car still in warranty

What car do you drive?

I don’t thunk so as I only picked up the car on Saturday and started having issues on Saturday night!

Straight back to the supplying dealer. What miles are on the car? Sounds like coil packs or possibly spark plugs. I wonder had the car been sitting in the dealer's for a while?

Coil pack(s) can result in a smell of unburnt fuel in the cabin as well as the misfiring.

As above, take it straight back.
