Hit discount tire. They'll fix it or ok you to drive on it.

I'm in Canada, what's a equivalent of discount tire?
Is it safe to drive after fixing it by plug?

So show it to Canadian tire and they will fix it for you since it's not close to the tire's wall! and yes you have to take action as soon as possible!

Go to Kal tire if there's one around.

get it patched. Don't go to Cdn tire. Bunch of monkeys work there. I would not trust letting them touch the M5

Go to Simply Tire (Keele & Finch) if you are in the area. Good price.

Personally I would just get a new tire, only bc any patch does affect its structural intergrity, no matter what people say. If you drive at high speeds, Id say swap it out. Thing is with that nail, theres a chance it didnt even puncture through the tire.

It would appear that according to Tire Rack & Pirelli Pzero's would not be endorsed for repair and maintain their speed rating. Tire Rack Link Here Pirelli Link here (top right corner of PDF)

IMO

Have a new one for your own safety. M5 is a performance car, you can not press your luck with a tire.

I had a Michelin PSS blow on me after a plug was put in - no matter how far away the hole is from the edge I will never do anything but install a new tire. On BMW lease cars, for an extra 10$ per month (so only 360 over the lease term) they will repair any Curb Rash, or blown tires for free. This was a no brainer for me.

Thanks all for the suggestion, I had it patched this morning for $40 at simplytires. They dismount the tire and applied sealant from inside the rubber.

At least for now... I'm not a big fan of the pzeros so this will be a perfect excuse to order a set of pss which I never got as stock. I'll wait a bit longer then toss these pzeros.

I never understood why people driving such an expensive car would not spend a few bucks to get a tire replaced??? Get a new one, this is not safe whatever people tell you.

This is why I have the tire insurance. I had this happen after three weeks owning the car and the tire was replaced at a $50 cost to me. These are not cheap tires though, they are about $450 each I think.

Aside from safety, the fact that our cars do not have spares is even more reason to just replace it.

Well if you are driving somewhere and it takes 5 days to get a new tire sometimes you have to get by for a bit!

That makes sense of course. Just stick to normal speeds while waiting

I like the way you put a huge modification to reach 800+HP (as you claim) on your car and then hit 200 mph in Freeway and then are concern about safety (no offence of course)... that modification and that speed is much more dangerous for you and your car than this nail in tire for OP (IMO)
Dude, don't get upset please. It's just for your safety...

Would it be ok to replace one tire rather than all 4? Just thought replacing tire all at once make sense for uniform tire wear down?

Would 3 pzeros and 1 pss be an issue? Other than it may look a little weird? What about 2 pss in the back and leave the 2 pzeros in front?

This can upset the handling of a car having differing traction front and rear.

I would (and just did) buy 4 PSS tires. Then keep the pzeros as spares. It took 4 days for Edmonton BMW to get 4 PSS 20" in from Vancouver. They had very limited stock in Toronto depot. Last year people were waiting up to 3 months in Canada for replacement tires, so spares in a pinch aren't a bad idea on a tire that will wear out in 25000km or less depending how hard you drive.

I am at 17000km on my original PSS and have 40% tread remaining. Starting to notice grip isn't the same as new in wet conditions.

^^^ Exactly why I wouldn't put just 1 new one. You would have 1 at 40% and 1 at 100%, no way. You would end up having to replace both.

The patch will be fine.
I've run patched tires at 170Mph before with no problem.
