Drivelogic vs. M Driving Dynamics Control

Can anyone explain the distinction between Drivelogic (p. 74 2014 M5 owner's manual) and M Driving Dynamics Control (p. 76). To me they seem redundant as they both seem to control engine response. Thanks!

Isn't Drivelogic the transmission setting? ie, D1 D2 D3, or S1 S2 S3.

Drivelogic (p.74 owner's manual) button directly behind shift lever:

Choice of three driving programs.
In Drive mode:
1: efficient driving
2: relaxed driving
3: sporty driving

In Sequential mode:
1: comfortable shifting operations
2: sporty, fast shifting operations
3: maximum shifting speed, Launch Control...

M Driving Dynamics Control (p. 76)
Affects the response of the vehicle to accelerator pedal movements.
Programs:
-Efficient - comfortable. Minimal fuel consumption
-Sport - sporty, dynamic
-Sport Plus - spontaneous, direct. Maximum dynamics.

Seems like these buttons are redundant.

Drive Logic Modes 1-3
1: Delay in shifts for smoothest (but slow) gear changes
2: No delay in shifts; fast gear changes
3: Fastest possible shifting speed.

You can choose D1-D3 or S1-S3
D = Drivelogic; shifts automatically
S = Sequential: manual shifts

Then you have three modes for throttle sensitivity (efficient, sport, sport+), three modes for suspension stiffness (comfort, sport, sport+), and three modes for servotronic aka steering stiffness (comfort, sport, sport+).

They are not redundant at all. Throttle curve and shift pattern are different things.

Throttle just controls flow of fuel.

Shift pattern controls when it shifts gears based on rpms and driving behavior, as well as how fast the shifts are.

You missed one: three modes for DSC stability control (full on, reduced traction control, and full off)
