I bought SG on my M5. I love black on bmws but wanted to do something different. I am sooooooo glad with my choice. But do not think for a second that SG is black, its not. If you like black go sapphire black. PPL say that carbon black is black, it is not. its dark just like SG is dark. You have to really ask yourself what you want. If you want black nothing is like sapphire black. You want different go SG its kind of like casino royale grey on aston martins.

space gray would be my pick, as it comes really close to meteor gray on the 911 which is stunning!
any thoughts about why space gray is so rare? it is pretty hard to find a M5/ M6 in that color on the market compared to a Singapore gray one.

I see a lot of space gray regular 5 series around here (Dallas Fort Worth) but all in all I don't see very many M5s at all. I have the Singapore gray (with Sakhir orange interior) and absolutely love it (my wife loves it as well (and she's a big fan of white with tan for her cars). It's like a darker sparkling graphite metallic (so closer to black with some depth as there's a shade of blue/purple in some direct sunlight ( I guess BMW is a fan of the blue hues considering the silverstone is also blueish in the sun) : . My previous 2 cars were black as well... And my man, you can't go wrong either way as color is totally subjective. When I see a "clean & shiny" BSM I have a flutter of a thought that I should have done another BSM, but then I see my combo and think "no way!" I'm very happy with my choice as I did want something different... All you'll want to do is drive it!

I went to see the car in different light many times before finally deciding. In direct sunlight, it looks much different than in the shade or under the lights at night. I personally love the color, but it is a personal preference. I went to multiple dealers many times during different lighting decisions, a pain but worth it.

Common as muck here on 5 series cars.
