Sleep tight for the winter M5. Hello my winter ride.

So the M5 was washed, detailed, filled with gas, and put in the garage for the winter. At least until March, April.

Hello my Dark side winter ride

Yeah, Gonna save some miles, and keep it clean for the winter. There is to much salt on the roads here. Id love to drive it, but the im afraid it will be ruined, and plus its dangerous with the PSS tires.

You make no sense. PSS? Slow down? Salt? Rinse after driving. Easy.
I've never put no car or sport bike down for the winter. Just a driver/rider adjustment for conditions.

You should not fill the car with gas when you store it either. Just my .02 cents

@Needsdecaf - This guy is an URBAN LEGEND!

I agree with him though. I'd drive V8 RWD BMWs in the snow when I was working in Munich. No probs with right tires.

No offense, but if you drove on PS2's in the snow regularly, you were pretty stupid. You were asking for it.

Agreed. I grew up driving RWD sports cars in the snow with snow tires, and never had an issue.

But I understand not wanting to subject the car to the ravages of the Northeast winter. Especially in PA, where they don't use a lot of salt due to most people having wells...they use sand. TORTURE on your car.

996 Winter ride... I admire your tenacity. Is it a 4, and are you putting snows on it?

Don't understand this thread. People are talking about the Northeast like its Siberia. In the NYC area we get 3-4 meaningful snow events a winter - the winters are not severe from a snow standpoint. Either way, don't drive your car during those periods. The remaining 80% of the winter months you can drive these cars without a problem.

Nailed it. If there are 4 or 5 days a winter you can't drive due to snow, It probably doesn't matter WHAT car you have. If you're getting a foot of snow, STAY HOME. But That probably happens once or twice a year in NY,CT,RI MA.

OP, Love the winter ride though :-)
