Cosmetic Mods

Does anyone have experience with "dipping" for you cosmetic mods? I came across this site that sells a spray on vinyl that I am debating using for door handles, emblems, wheels, etc? www.dipyourcar.com

Some of the finished work looks really good - I like the idea of being able to "change" out my wheels for a different finish/color?

Ive heard of a lot of guys using plasti-dip on grills and emblems. Ive even seen it on a set of wheels. Not sure how durable it is though. I even bought a bottle at Home Depot to try, but then decided to get the M5 and got bored with mods on the old car. Guess the good thing is if you mess up, just peel and respray. And its cheap. I would probably limit it to emblems and small items.

My buddy wants to clear my M5....(Looks just like OEM frozen) I am about to spray my Jetta just trying to figure out the exact color I want.

Most people in here probably won't like the idea but its an option. It can chip, thats the biggest down side. Touch up is ok but custom colors makes it more of a PITA

Aloha

I used plasti-dip on my landcruiser. It's fun and risk-free. However the black fades in the sun, and it will peel.

It was a nice way to preview various parts of the truck in black without committing to it, since it comes off with a pressure washer.

EDIT: I won't be using plasti-dip on the M5. It would feel too much like shopping for exhaust tips at AutoZone.
