Very interested in this discussion. I have a 2015 M5 with Competition Package on order. I want H&R Springs, but am afraid these won't work quite as well on a Comp package M5.

Did H&R or Dinan say they are making some for the Comp package M5's?

Honestly mate, the h&r springs are bang on. I've had mine since my new cp 4 months ago and they are superb. Just get them!

How much lower does it bring the car thats already CP?
I don't believe that H&R springs are rated for the stiffer CP dampers. They do NOT make different springs for non-CP M5 vs CP M5, so its not possible that the regular H&R's that are made for the NON-CP M5 will be proper for the CP M5.

Springs are springs. I doubt that H&R will sell a spring that is beyond the dampening capability of the stock shocks. Seriously just marginal increases in spring rate 15-20% not a doubling or tripling of spring rate. So the non-cp specific springs should not be an issue for a cp car imo...

The problem is if you care about performance the CP springs are actually stiffer than the H&R ( 20% stiffer than stock ). The only advantage of the H&R is the cosmetic lowering .

Has anyone considered the KW H.A.S. for the M5? I am thinking of purchasing and would love to hear from someone that has this installed on a M5 CP. Perhaps I will be the first?

Assuming you are correct, shouldn't be an issue for the dampers to be able to control a softer spring. BTW, would you happen to know the spring rate of the dinan springs relative to the cp springs? softer firmer?

On the other end of the spectrum, I would assume the kw clubsports would be the ultimate off the shelf setup in performance for this car.

Having an undersprung damper can significantly affect performance , again since most don't drive their car hard or on track you can get away with it . I just have a problem with paying for an excellent OEM suspension that has been extensively tested as a unit and throwing a worse performing part on it . I would imagine Dinan's spring is in the same ballpark , but again money for no performance gain . I would leave the CP alone or go for a full performance coilover like the Clubsport .

I had H&R's for a year an today installed KW sleeve kit. It is less bouncy than H&R. I like how it performs as well.

The KW kit comes with springs and sleeve that helps you control the height.

Dinan coilovers should go the trick.

No offense to anyone at all in this thread, but a lot of the posts are from owners of NON-cp cars (per your sigs / profiles).

The OP and myself are looking for advice on lowering while enhancing the stock Competition Package suspension - at minimum, getting equal performance.

The KW H.A.S. kit looks appealing but I'm still waiting on whether the HAS kit springs are as stiff as the stock CP ones for a perfect match. I didn't want to hit up a random retailer and ask (plus lead them on into thinking they have a sale) unless I know for sure they are asking KW the right question directly. Not sure why KW doesn't specify the compatibility (or un-) on their site.

Possibly ordering a car soon and I'm very interested in finding out what aftermarket suspension options would work best for a CP M5......hence the BUMP!

I have heard nothing but good things about the KW sleeve over kit. Might be going that route myself

I currently have AC schnitzer springs on my 550i with the dynamic shocks and roll stabilization and I couldn't be more pleased. My car rides just as comfortable as stock and firms up solid in sport mode for that planted feeling. Handles very well for a big sedan.

Any thoughts on how ACS springs would perform on a CP M5?? Apparently the majority of M5 owners who change out their springs choose H&R. Other than H&R being half the price of ACS, not sure why everyone goes that route. It's my understanding from several owners who have had both is that ACS springs are stiffer than H&R. Also, not sure I want to spend extra on a KW sleeve or spring kit since the car will already have the comp pack. And coilovers seem like overkill to me. Any thoughts welcome.
