With the new generation M5 inbound to hit the market soon, what is everyone’s thoughts on what’s gonna happen with the F10 M5 market/pricing?
Are we going to see a stable market, is the pricing on it gonna drop more, or will it go up like the E39? We all know the manuals will always have a premium, I am speaking for the DCT models with nothing special about the car (no individual paint or anything). |

I'm no expert but I've been paying close attention to the market and comps over my 3+ years of ownership. I was lucky enough to get $45K for my 30K mile base (w/ Dinan bits) in July but you wouldn't get close to that today.
Save for special editions (Pure Metal, Jahre, Frozen), 6MT or low miles fully-loaded LCI examples the market is trending downward pretty quick. SEs and 6MTs, I think, are the only examples that MIGHT retain value or go up slightly like well looked after E39s. When the G90/G99 is revealed and orders open up I imagine it will fall further and fast. There is a lot of love for the F10 platform, and rightfully so, but the low price point is drawing a younger, less affluent or savvy owner and I'm starting to see evidence of that in Facebook groups and some pretty funny memes (Original F10 M5 owners vs. Today's M5 owners) I do miss driving my M5. I don't miss some of the antiquities of the tech ... and the design (flame on).
