DCT does 0-60 in 3.6

Has anyone seen the new Car and Driver where they compare the 6 speed to the 6 speed CTS-V? And in the testing, they also run a DCT M5. They talk very little about the transmission, but the numbers speak for themselves.

An eye-opening time of 3.6

Impressive by any measure.

I saw that. I'm skeptical that the 6-speed is that much slower. They listed it at 4.1 or 4.2. Likely some testing error. I saw another test that listed the DCT and 6-speed at something like 3.7 and 3.8, respectively.

I'm surprised Car and Driver is doing another comparo given that in last months comparo, they rated it last out of 3 sedans one of which is not even in the same league.

Maybe they are trying to win back subscribers like me who cancelled their subscriptions after that shameless piece of Audi propaganda.

Have you ever driven a turbocharged manual car? Unless you're set up for 'no lift' shifting, there is a significant interruption iin torque delivery.

In normal spirited driving it just doesn't matter, but for timed acceleration runs it has a price.
