Grinding from Rear Axle

Was driving normally today and made a slow speed right turn at a light. Car started jack rabbiting and had this grinding sounds from the rear (suspect the diff). Has anyone had this happen? Any advice? Taking car in next week.

I remember had this issue on my e46 M3, it was related to them using the wrong Diff fluid at the 1200 mile break-in service. I cant remember if it was remedied by a new diff or just changing out the oil. Might be completely unrelated to your issue as this is first Ive heard of it on the F10. My issue didnt cause the jack rabbiting, but just a grinding sound.

Was not Jack Rabbiting though.

Sounded awful.

OP get to service department ASAP, as if you have stone stuck in there, u can damage backplate or brakedisk and its not covered under warranty!

is this the same grinding perception?
i had them two, rarely but only when the car is in incline position, very-very high, in some it doesn't shows up.
but in the exact same place and road it always does.
car speed (0-15km/h)

its something got stuck in the brake disc and rear diff.

Hey, got mine checked at the dealer, they said its normal, something to do with the motor on the limited diff,
they said it only comes on different times, and not always active all the time.
well their explanations makes sense to me, so i took the car home.
however, funny that i asked other owners and not noticing this problem :s

Sounds a complete load of bollocks they have just given you.
Never heard or had this on mine, and no one I know with the M5 has either.
these dealers do make you laugh.

Update: today I got TPMS warning in the right rear and tire was 8 lbs low relative to others. Didn't notice cut or puncture and tire has held air all day. Could have been the first sign if right rear was low. Going to monitor. If I get TPMS again, going to have them change tire under tire warranty.
