Coding ASD back On...

I coded ASD off when I picked up my car about 9 months ago. I wanted to code it back on temporarily but I can't seem to get it to turn back on. I've gone through all the threads on how to turn it off and went back to my notes too. Attached are the screenshots from coding it off. I also went through all the other settings that involve ASD just to make sure I didn't change anything else. In the ASD_SOUND settings, I changed those back to nicht_aktiv. Those were the MINI engine sounds I remember playing with.

According to my notes, I just went into the HBT module and set ASD_SOUND_OFF to aktiv. I have since flipped it back to nicht_aktiv. What am I missing here?

Isn't that what's in my screenshot? If not, what should the setting be?

Unfortunately I don't have my cafd readily available to compare. You could always VO code the module again to restore to factory.

There's also a secondary way of disabling asd by pulling a fuse.

I will google how to VO code then. I never pulled the fuse so I know that's not the reason it isn't working (unless the fuse blew).

My only other guess is that it's working but I can't tell the difference because of my AWE Exhaust. Any way to confirm it's functioning in ESYS? Is there a diagnostic part of the tool that could show if there are errors?

There's no way to tell via diagnostic from what I know. However if you VO coded it then you're coding settings would be correct.

I wonder if my issue is related to what I found on the F80 forum: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1193651

I did get a software update not long after my exhaust was installed but I don't remember if ASD was turned back on (it should have been) when I re-coded all the stuff the software update flipped to default.

Got this resolved. Turns out it was working but it's so subtle that my exhaust basically drowned it out. I got ISTA installed and the ECU test screen has a mute ASD function. I had to put my car in neutral, mute the radio, and rev the engine at a very low RPM (~1200) and only then could I hear ASD working when I could mute and unmute it. For some reason, I remember the ASD being louder but that was the stock exhaust which I guess really is quiet compared to even the AWE Touring on my car...

If you haven't learned or played with INSTA (aka. Rheingold), it's pretty awesome to complement eSYS.
