I'm surprised this thread is still alive. Lol!

I might need to make a video of a 911 versus an M5 next.

Why not? My wife used her boxter as a daily driver. Not a 911 but none the less. Very comfortable.

I had M5 as my daily drive since October 2012, and upgraded to a fully loaded and individually optioned 14 M5 early this year(less than 3000Km). Why does Porsche become so attractive to M car owners?
i've had an m5 before..
i know that for example if i had to sell it to change to a c2s.. i'll be missing it.
stay with your m5.

Huh? What happen here? If we didn't have a difference in opinion to encourage debate (I don't believe my deleted posts were inappropriate, so somewhat bemused), there wouldn't be much to talk about.

I don't think it was related to your posts but they deleted all 3 pages because the other members were kind of insulting each other. looks like it's easier for them to delete the page than individual posts mine was not inappropriate as well ....

Me either, I just posted pics of me at 21 and now to show I had a Corvette back in the day. Alexey is 21 also so I thought it might amuse him.

My first car at 18 was a Vauxhall Cavalier (no idea what the US equivalent is) which had been around the clock at least once (so 180K miles +) paintwork was cracked and crazed on the bonnet. In terms of handling, let's just say that it didn't (and I do mean literally). Cost more to insure than buy.

So why is Porsche desirable (and M for that matter)? Well in my case, I still remember my 'car roots'

Yes, I agree, I hated gettting rid of it although it was egregiously under powered at 165hp, can you believe that? It was a 1975 roadster with a pop top and four on the floor.

Here is why I had to get rid of it.

Man, 165 hp was a lot at that time! Ferrari 208 GT4 had almost the same power

Yeah for a four cylinder! Seriously, the L-48 350 without pollution control from 73 would get 195hp. However, the power that the car had was delivered well. I outran Transams with 455's because I had that 4 on the floor and no qualms about the redline. That car would run from 60 to 110 about as fast as from 0 to 60 and so I could beat anyone on the freeway. This is one of the things I love about the M5, except it's so much faster. The second and third gear were really strong in that car. With the M5 it's 3 and 4 that I really like.
