M5 343m with 315 R888s

There are a few on the board that run this setup. Thanks George at MSR for recommendation. It works for the R888s, but wouldn't for PSS.

Thought there might be interest in seeing what it looks like.

Thanks for sharing the pics of the R888s. Are those 315/25? What tires do you have on the front?

Weather needs to warm up! I hear 45 hits will take off like a rocket. Next week I should know for sure.

Mods: JB4/BCM, Meth 50/50, MSR intakes & charge pipes.

Also have a set of 343m 20/10.5 coming for 305 PSS for daily duties.

315/30. Tires on front are stock PSS 265s.

315 mm tire is too wide for a 10" rim. You need at 10.5"-11.5" wide rim for this tire (i.e M6 343M and not M5 343M)

10.5 would be ideal, but on the M5 that would end up rubbing your fenders and eating through them. I will not run this setup on a road coarse. For straight line grip on street and track they have been documented to work well. I did read that on tire rack too before purchase. Also discussed in detail with Tire shop and other members that run the setup as I was concerned too. The extra .5 inches would reduce the bulge ever so slightly.

For daily use I will use my M6 wheels and 305 PSS.

Allmotor has 315 R888 and has no rubbing issues, but he also has aftermarket rims.

315 on stock rims too dangerous IMO.
George from MSR has a m6, the m6 rims are .5 inchs wider, maybe he knows that, maybe he doesn't. Just want to give you my .2 cents.

Have you considered rolling your fenders? I've thought about this option when I thought my 305's would rub with my aftermarket rims.

As others have mentioned, 305's are too wide for 343M M5 rears... let alone 315's.

George has an M6, M5 and M4. He tried the M6 wheels on his M5 and it rubbed with R888s. Fender rolling might be a good option to get the M6 wheels to work.

I didn't know he had a f10 m5. I thought he had the v10.

LOL 800+ whp?? So this is the first M5 with 900+ HP at crank?? wow
Let me tell you something buddy, if this car has an engine generates 900+HP then all other components (DCT, Diff, axle, cooling, ...) will be blown up shortly since non of them are design or rated for this type of power...

Yes there is room for improvement on the drivetrain including axels, driveshaft and diff but they seem to be holding up if you don't launch the car from every stop sign.
Ok let me explain and please correct me if I am wrong.
The difference between whp and flywheel hp is the drivetrain loss which is 12-15% for our cars so basically if you claim your dyno measured 800 whp (800 hp at rear wheel) it means your tuned engine is generating 12-15% more power or 900+ HP right? having said that, you are transferring over 900 hp to transmission input shaft and something about 800-850 hp to drive shaft and almost the same power to axle... not saying it's not possible but for sure these components are not rated to these numbers. on the other hand your DCT is rated to 700 nm (516 lb-ft) as a safe number; however I believe up to 600 lb-ft is safe since German's are conservative... now please let me know by 800 whp you meant your dyno measured 800 hp at wheel or that's the number after drivetrain loss correction?
meanwhile you said if we do not launch.... I believe this car is produced to be launched with no restriction... what you are saying is like to say go to restaurant but don't eat anything then you are fine

LOL ok so you have upgrade clutch... I thought your friend claimed no upgrade BTW...
but wait, what about differential or axle? Have you ever upgraded them? or you basically removed the weakest point from clutch and moved it to another point?
and about your last comment: why would I launch the car? the same reason I get M5 (or M6 in my case) instead of 535/550/640/650
FYI I used to have 2 650i F13 (2012 and 2013) but I jumped to M6 for more power and more torque to be able to catch 60 mph from standstill in less than 3.7 second and not 4.5 second... that's all
anyways, good discussion buddy... and Goodluck

I never said no upgrade, i said 800whp, of course that will have some upgrades (hence i put the link replied)

Im close to 700whp and not bhp (no problems at all)
Besides who drives stock car nowadays these cars are meant to be driven
My manual m5 wnt needs clutches at 800whp. I like to use whp no bhp so they can figure crank hp which is pointless to me when they say bhp and not what it puts on the ground.

These snails are on the car so another 800whp in the East Coast
