Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I think BMW here in Vancouver will be able to give me a good deal on one, almost pulled the trigger on a 2013 with 130km for $99k last year but had just taken delivery of the 535 and I would've take a huge hit on the car by doing so.

If you want it go for the M5. I would imagine your climate and snowfall is similar to what we get in Denver. I've driven M3s for 11 winters in a row on snow tires and never gotten stuck or had any issues. Not to mention intentional slides are a blast... I've run Nokian Hakka R for the last 6 winters and they are without compare. For a more performance-oriented tire that gives up a little snow traction for better dry performance go for the Michelin PA4.
