Dont judge me! Second M3 order problem..

Hey guys, I havent been an active member of this forum since I got rid of my M3 in 2012. I ordered one in 2011, loved the car but the gas bill was starting to exceed my monthly payment lol SO I traded it in for an Audi A4.. Dont ask me why please.. But now im looking into getting another M3 because I miss it way to much!

Anyway, I went down to my local "trusted" dealership to order an E92 M3, and they are giving me a BS story about how I cannot pick the Premium enhanced sound without the $4 billion dollar premium package.. When I ordered my first M3 in 2011, I got Comp pkg, Premium sound pkg, 6 speed manual, anthracite cloth seats, alpine white exterior and thats it.. Now they are saying I need premium pkg to get the premium sound.. this is complete BS to me.. Is there any way I can dispute this to the dealership or the factory?

Also, last question, how much money can I save with the eurpoean delivery and am I really saving money because I still have to pay for the flight and board?

On the euro delivery. Really what you are saving is close to the modest travel expense. Key word in there is modest. But you also can't put a price on driving the car in if natural environment.

@warp10 - I would love to do the european delivery, as you said, theres nothing like driving a car on its home land. But how much would I be saving on the car? They said I save money on the car as well.. Also do you have anything to say about the packages Im trying to get on the car?

For 2013, EPS requires Premium Package. Nothing your dealer can do about it AFAIK (note my sig).

That seems ridiculous thought right? I have to add a 4 thousand dollar package to get premium sound?

Dont do it and get some aftermarket speakers installed later on if thats all youre concerned about. You can get way better speakers/amps/sub installed for less than that.

Yes, you do. I thought the same thing but ended up going for it. It's up to you and what your concerns are, and what you want out of the car.

If I were you, I'd be much more worried about getting a production slot before they stop making the E92 M3 forever. There certainly aren't very many left.

ottoblotto - I like aftermarket speakers no doubt, but when I had my old e92 m3 in 2011, the enhanced sound could beat nothing. IT is so well tuned to the cabin, no distortion in sound, no baffles from the subs under the seat, everything was so well put together.

PrometheusM3 - My dealership said that the deadline to order M3's is June 3rd. So HOPEFULLY I am still good to go regardless of how much time I have left. As for what I want out of the car, I love the sound of the engine, especially at 7500 rpm's, but when the windows are up, I love the sound which comes from the premium speakers, simply amazing.

manari06 - You are one lucky guy! Do you know how much money I would be saving on my M3 if I did european delivery?

Have you tried building your car over at bmwconfig.com? You can get the ED prices from there to get an idea of the discounts available. But (as others have noted), it's really more about the experience -- the savings are going to be minimal once you figure in travel costs (unless you are using miles).

OP, while I agree that for MY13 BMW changed the ordering policy requiring the Premium Pkg for the Enhanced Audio, there could be another option. A little known fact is the availability of a Logic7 upgrade which is sourced from HK. This does not require the PP. Cost is around $1,100 USD and referred to as option # 688. See the details below and comparing against the Enhanced Audio (# 752)

Option 688: BMW high-end-speaker system with LOGIC7 signal processing and Surround mode, digital amplifier with vehicle-specific equalizing, 420 W amplifier power, multi-channel.

13 loudspeakers:
- 1 centre midrange speaker in the instrument panel
- 2 tweeters with 'harman/kardon' designation in the mirror triangles
- 2 midrange speakers in door trims (basic equipment)
- 2 central bass speakers under the front seats (basic equipment)
- 2 tweeters in side trims at the rear
- 2 midrange speakers in side trim at the rear (basic equipment)
- 2 midrange speakers in the rear parcel shelf

If you lease, ED leases are calculated against US MSRP but your cost is whatever you negotiate above ED invoice.

I believe it does (as Individual). But it is an option should the OP not want the Premium Pkg.

one more thing to consider is that you will get license plate holes in your bumper unless you find a way to convince the factory to use adhesive or zip ties instead. german laws are strict about front license plates.

Dkhan23 - After I get the M3 I will definitely keep it since its the last of the e92 models. I didnt keep it last time because I thought it would be nice to save on gas costs, but now I realize that I can sacrifice for the M3.

Longboarder: I do not see why I couldn't? Every dealer has to offer it, its stated on the BMW NA website


dcho: As far as I know, the dealer is responsible foe drilling holes, thats why you sign something which says that the dealer has put your plates on your car, if you do not want holes, you specifically tell the dealer before the car comes in, and then you sign papers saying that you are aware of the fact that you do not want to put plates on your car, nor mounting equipment

Goat Rodeo - I understand that. I saw something on the BMW site where it gives you the "ED discount" on all BMW cars,a nd I believe the m3 was $4155 off.

NHman - Thanks for your input about the Logic7 speakers, but I think I will take the route which ussoldierforhire was talking about with that company in Oregon, Ive read a lot of reviews and seen a lot of pictures, and this after market system kicks Premium BMW sound.

You will save at the most 14% off the USA MSRP on top of any current incentives with the right CA.

What we call the Enhanced Premium Audio system is in fact the Individual Audio system.

Logic7 has been available in the USA M3 without any intervention of Individual, but not openly. It is that nobody really asked before.
