It DOES make a difference in how they play in the 4th quarter...we had that game wrapped up until then...granted the offense needs to play well enough to give us a lead.

You only allowed 0 points in the 4th quarter. That's not exactly a collapse.

Let me rephrase what I was trying to say when I said "it doesn't matter how the Bears defense plays": "We know the Bears defense will play well. That should not be a variable in this equation, and we should assume they will have a game similar to the last meeting".

The defense in the 4th quarter shouldn't have been an issue at all. The little bit that they did "give" was easily made up for by their performance the rest of the game. If Chicago's O-Line wasn't so damn inept, they would have been able to score from 1st and Goal at the 1 yard line within four tries. Also, the penalties killed them.... I don't see how you could fault the Bears defense for letting one good drive happen late in the game and, even then, they came up with the big stop. As we have seen, the Detroit offense is pretty potent, and the Bears shut it down with authority. FFS they gave up 148yds passing, 21yds rushing, and forced three turnovers! How much better of a game do they need to have? I think that's more than adequate. The problem in Chicago is obviously the offense, not the defense. You can count on your defense to put in a good showing every week; it's just up to that consistently terrible offensive line to not lose the game for them.

At the end of the day. The Bears are going to beat the Lions.
Why? Because everyone beats the Lions and the Bears have the "Big brother" complex on them. (I.E. No matter how big and strong the little bro gets, the big bro will always have the mental edge just because he's the big bro)

Yeah, that was the same mentality the Wolverines had in reference to the Spartans, and look where it got them.... At least the Wolverines qualified for a "big brother" title in the first place, with 40 years of dominating the series there....

Everyone has been "big brother" to the Lions for the past 10 years. IMO, 10 years is pretty early to be claiming "big brother" anyway; you seem to have forgotten what life was like in this matchup in the '90s.... You weren't big brother at all.

I was more of a Power Rangers/ Pokemon/ Disney movie fan in the 90's actually lol

And that's true, pretty much everyone has that complex over the Lions lol. I guess its to be expected when your one of the oldest teams in the league and you haven't won a championship though. haha
Don't get me wrong, I would like to see the lions become a winning team regardless of them being in the Bears division, but i just cant see it happening against Chicago on the 5th. The Bears are feeling too good about themselves and they aren't gonna let Detroit beat them (again?) haha

I'd have to agree that the Bears are the worst 7-3 team and that the Lions are the best 2-7 team. LOL. I can't believe the Lions have scored more than they allowed and are still 2-7!!!

It depends on which questionables start in the Dallas secondary, if any. I think Best will have a decent game receiving, but don't expect much out of him on the ground. I could be wrong, though. The Bills run defense was piss-poor on a good day, and we couldn't even run against them. Expect more of the same until we get an O-Line (read: never).

I don't think the Lions will win that game. We have such a poor record against former sucky starters. It's embarrassing. I really don't feel like watching Kitna tear us up. I'll have flashbacks to that Thanksgiving game where Harrington finally looked like a quarterback... against us.

It all comes down to the injury report for that week, and what happens in the next couple of weeks for both teams. The Lions have to go to Dallas (who actually looks decent now), and then host the Pats.

The Lions are a team who could lose out, or win out the rest of the season. They're right on the brink. They can beat anyone, and they can lose to anyone. It's frustrating. I do think if the Lions win both games leading up to the 5th, you'll see what positivity can do to a roster full of decent players who are tired of finding ways to lose every week. If the Lions lose both games, I don't think they'll have it in them to compete well for the rest of the season.

Bears against the division are 3-0 but they were all home games - I don't think they'll go undefeated in the NFC North.

In what game? The Lions game or the Dolphins game? Adrean was talking about the 4th quarter of the Lions game, in which the Bears were never up by more than 5.

Yeah that road trip to Green Bay is going to be a bitch. I fully expect the Packers to win that one.

Anyway back on topic I do agree that our O-line worries me more than Cutler does....the O-line makes JC skittish and that leads to even more interceptions...LOL.
