Flash tune but now have problems

Hi, ive just had my M5 flashed tuned, had to take DME's off and sent to the tuner who loaded the flash tune on bench and then returned them to me. It definitely feels more powerful now, and in general very happy. However im experiencing a strange issue where if i knock it down a gear and slam the throttle sometimes the power really pulls hard but almost immediately then power dies, its like the traction control kicks in but tested with TC completely off and its still the same? it does it in other situations too its not always a gear change, but seems to be when the boost spikes.

-Im wondering if its the plugs as their standard and not gapped?
-Also the boost doesn't seem to go above 18 psi. Maximum ive seen so far on my boost gauge is 20 psi and that seems to be when the power dies, tuner told me id get 4 psi over stock - but is this right?

Spoken to tuner and he said he's not sure why this is happening, any ideas from the M5 forum experts?

hummmm what tune do you have? I tried out a few tunes with great dyno ads but those tunes were only viable when the car was running colder IAT's. As soon as it got too hot the heat soak popped and the tune pulled timing. My car felt like a normally aspirated V6 LOL.

Check your plug gap. How much boost should she be making now? If you down shift and roll on the throttle to full throttle does it do it?

if i change down say from 3rd to 2nd and floor it, i justs dies, its like the power just pops, but wait 5 mins and the power comes back, if im a little more gentle with the throttle its always fine, only runs about 18 psi on average, not checked plug gap yet

Are you running in MDM mode?

I hope your tuner is saying more than "I don't know". Only he supposedly knows what is done to your car, unless he's just a bench flasher reselling someone else's tune files.

I've heard of a few cases where the coils need changing after a tune; maybe the sudden increase in power pops a couple....happened to me. Also gap your plugs while you're in there.

this is a serious question, who tuned the car? i have a friend who tuned with one of the "popular" guys on here and he is having a very similar issue to what yours is it sounds like.

During WOT the car would feel good, then at a certain point it would feel like the car is cutting power immediately. The problem has persisted for over a month now, and he has since been refunded his money, since they cannot fix the issue.

PM me, i don't want to start a tuner war in here.

Why not name the tuner? Sounds like good customer service to me.

Why name the tuner? They are reputable, i just dont see the need to bring their name into it.

That's your prerogative. I would not shun a vendor who's product doesnt work on one car, but exhibited excellent customer service. I was just curious, and maybe it would help other members researching tuning vendors.

Yes I'm reluctant too, was looking for anyone who may have experienced my problem.. also the burning question is what psi do you think i should be on with an off the shelf flash tune, It hardly goes above 17 psi and feel like I could use some more boost

Maybe the tune didn't take fully. If you have obd2 access now go back to stock for a few days then flash back.

Sounds like you have a bad tune or something else is wrong. Try not to push you car any more until the tuner has looked into it.

I was at max 22.5psi with my custom stage 1... ~670whp/650wtq. I'll recommend my tuner in my sig. He does a lot of overseas tunes (unless he's the one who screwed up your tune lol )

Sorry forgot that if you are possibly browsing on a mobile phone, signatures may not show.
