i thought most nascar drivers had experience in other forms of racing as well carts at least. why be a pro golfer and only capable of scoring on one course?

There's no video in the link, that's annoying as hell. They unbroke it.

He turned bright red, so definitely not acting. Keep in mind he's not used to a car that can actually brake, or tight turns.

That in addition to the fact someone ELSE is driving, you put another v8 supercar driver in another drivers car and he won't be comfortable either. A racer knows better then anyone that it only takes a tiny mistake to really mess up.

Most NASCAR drivers also drive in other series events. The last race at Bathurst had 12 or 13 NASCAR drivers racing. You're also talking about an old guy whose retirement was really brought about due to a wreck that he says changed his life. Maybe a guy who was traumatized by a wreck might be scared when in the passenger seat? Either way he did sound like a puss.

It's also a different story being in the passenger seat in those types of situations, I'm sure we all know that.

Yes this is true for sure. When I've driven with an instructor as a passenger I can't believe how much faster it seems even when they are doing the same thing.

He would probably be scared as hell, being strapped to the front and all.

Being in the drivers seat is much different than in the passenger seat. Trusting yourself is one thing and trusting someone else is another. Also a lot of turns at Bathurst are blind so I imagine it is scary when the car seems to have no where to go.

Yeah I think Bathurst was a perfect track to take him around. so many hills, curves and blind corners.

Still though...man up. haha

They do race at Watkins Glen and Infineon

Also as stated I think that being a passenger has a lot to do with it....

I may be wrong but I thought the majority of the drivers used to be subbed out for ones that turn both ways for those races?

They're signed on for like 5 years at the Austin track, who knows about that NJGP? That'd be awesome.

Waltrip won 5 races and had 9 poles at Riverside and competed in over 50 NASCAR road races. In addition he competed in the Daytona 24 hour race. He loves the dramatic and did a good job in the video.
