But the M5 will loose more much more.

And I've seen just as many M6 GC's since IT was released not too long ago. It was actually one of the reasons I opted to save the $$ and go with the M5 vs the M6 GC is because there are not many of them in my area.
I didn't think MD had a large population of M5's... Let alone a density of any high end rides.
What area of MD are you referring to?
Tysons, chevy Chase, potomac, McLean, bethesda is where I spent my 19k miles in 9 months

Also I never see m6's or m6gc's

Yeah he is right those are some of the nicer areas. Especially Tysons Corner. Everytime I drive through there I always see an Aston Martin or a Camaro ZL1. There are a lot of Middle-Eastern Americans that live around Tyson and most drive nice cars.

The most memorable F10 M5 I've ever seen in the wild was on the 50 West heading towards Annapolis. It was a rare LCI Pyrite Brown. Superb looking color. Loved it!

I leased mine back in fall of '12. I had the choice of purchasing as well. I knew within the first few months I made the right choice. It just got a bit boring. And this is with a 6MT. Like how is that even possible?? One thing is true is that the automotive landscape is drastically different now with so many choices so I'm one and done with the M5. The fact that I get way more compliments when driving my 14 lexus IS F sport, says something. Hmm what next?

I would like to make the disclaimer that if I had kept my stock exhaust on the F10 M5, I would have gotten rid of it a long time ago too. I do understand where all of these "the M5 got boring for me" statements are coming from and I agree. The F10 M5 is pretty boring with the stock exhaust, you really can't hear anything and it really is just too quiet. This is where the E60 M5 beats the F10 M5 hands down, because at least you get a lot of beautiful front induction sound from the V10 with the E60 M5's stock exhaust. The Comp Pack exhaust does help slightly but only with the windows down. With proper aftermarket exhausts, both the E60 and F10 benefit greatly. Every time I crank up the M5, I feel like I'm driving something super special. The exhaust note is just so good with aftermarket. I think if you got rid of your M5 or M6 already and never changed out the exhaust, you missed out.

I don't think its the exhaust its that the m5 does what it does so well and so refined and detached that after a certain amount of time especially if you do your driving for fun. It can lose the appeal while still being very special.

Exhaust wouldn't have changed it for me which is why I never put my AMS dps or went into an exhaust.

E60 m5 with euro SMG flash was brutal shifting where 100 you felt like you were about to die lol... F10 m5 might have that feeling somewhere above 155 but certainly not anywhere below it, at least for me .

I just traded in my M5 for a 2015 Jaguar f-type coupe. My decision was mostly financial as I had bought the M5 with no money down and was able to get into the Jag on a lease for almost $600 a month less.

Okay...that makes sense. You could have simply stated 'near DC' and it would have clicked.

Like someone mentioned earlier, most owners of $100k+ cars will usually have higher income and will change every 2-3 years. For those who think they can afford one, soon realize that it is an expensive car to own. High loan or lease payments, insurance, cost of your OCD, registration renewal, gas, etc.

It's not just affordability! Some people believe that it's not worth to pay that much money for this or any car! I read a comment weeks ago a guy with 6 figure income wished to invest his money instead of buying M5!

I'm sorry, but did you just compare and Aston Martin and a Camaro to each other?

That gave me a laugh this morning, so thank you!

Lol! No. Camaro ZL1's are rare and fast. You don't see them every day. I guess that was my point.

Thats the smart play... These are hobbies to most of us, its not a practical car by any means.

But the goal in life isn't to die with the biggest bank account and there is certainly room to enjoy ones self without risking it all.

At least thats my take on it lol.

The F10 M5 is a great car! The only issue I have using it as a DD has to do with its size. Over here, we do mostly city driving and the foot print of the car means u need to be more wary when maneuvering around tight spaces. The other somewhat annoying characteristic is that I still seem to be struggling with the throttle when it comes to moving away smoothly and promptly from the lights. I am talking about gracefully moving off smoothly and not the scalded cat take off. When I ease down on the throttle, nothing happens. Other cars around me takes off and I am the slow responding one. Press down some more and the car lunges forward brutally. I can't believe I am still struggling with this after more than 2 years of ownership...

+1 I have a friend with two houses, lots of money saved up, but frugal in every respect. They have a car which they spend $6k on repairs this year alone and don't think its wise to buy a new car. I tell them that they have more than enough to send their kids through school, leave a little something for them including the houses, etc... why not live a little. Cars weren't important to them, but they can at least get something decent and new. It's not just cars, even with dining out they can't justify going to a nice restaurant often. When they do, they complain about the prices yada yada. He's a hard worker, but what's the point of working hard if you can't enjoy life. As long as you do it responsibly, it's all good!

I feel you. Our neighbor was making 850k a year drove a 2001 cr-v with almost 250k on it, also had a volvo from the 90s, they printed out coupons for us when we ate at ruth chris with them...

I applaud the dedication, but I just wonder what it was all for if its simply compounding in bank accounts or investments. I mean you don't have to buy cars because maybe traveling the world, or drinking 1000 dollar bottle of wine tickles your fancy, but to do nothing... Just seems odd to me.

I'd probably ditch the M5 for an Alpha Romeo 4C. Like I said before, it's a car that is just so drastically different from the M5 in every single respect.
