High speed driving in the M5 (video)
Found this while cruising youtube this morning. I thought I would share.
(this is definitely NOT ME) Best part is there is no commentary, no music, just sound... |

This is the way our cars were meant to be driven. I cant count the number of times I am just driving along and I feel the car is just laughing at me and saying "is this all you got..."

Did I really just spend 20 watching a video?
Yep, out of town and missing the beast! 140 MPH in fourth gear.... Nice. Fully agree, what a way to drive the car, and I too find myself sometimes just laughing in the car thinking.... Really! |

Great video! Excellent steady camera with no commentary. Thanks for posting. Question: How does one get their M5 up to 195MPH (314KPH was the top speed I saw in the video)? I could only manage ~160MPH (according to HUD) before hitting the limiter.

An ECU tune with one of the aftermarket houses, RENNtech or Eurocharged are in the USA. There are many others I'm sure. More HP and they delete or raise the speed limit. The only catch is that it's a probable warranty buster though.

It will go up to 195+mph pretty much at the same rate as it does 165mph. Sometimes the cars from BMW on Demand at the Welt don't have limiters on them....

People are so dumb here in the US. They don't understand that left lane is to pass and for faster cars only and you should not pass on the right since they cannot see you as we'll and creates more confusion in the road. People drive so slow on the left lane that you have no option that to go for it and it sucks. If you stick to the autobahn rule to just pass on the left side that's why they can hit those speeds in suck an organized manner with much less accidents than here. |
