Cool New BMW M5 Teaser - Win a Test Drive!

BIMMERPOST NEWS
New BMW M5 Teaser - Win a Test Drive!
47
COMMENTS

The countdown to the F10 M5 has officially begun. Here's another teaser video from M-Power.com starring Dr. Kay Segler, CEO at BMW M GmbH, and some shots of a slightly disguised M5 during winter testing. We're looking forward to learning all the details about the M5 in the coming weeks.

But, if that's not good enough for you or you simply can't wait that long, M-Power.com might have something for you. Register at the M-Power.com Closed Room and let BMW M know which dreams you associate with the new BMW M5. If they like your dream you might end up driving an M5 prototype during its late development phase and participate in exclusive launch events. So don't miss this chance if you have an M5 dream to share!

Here's the interview with Dr. Kay Segler talking about this opportunity:
Quote:
M-Power.com: Dr. Segler, have you driven the new BMW M5 yet? What can you tell our readers?

Dr. Kay Segler: We believe the new BMW M5 is one of the most fascinating expressions of the BMW M genes ever seen. A business sedan and an automobile with the emotional density and driving experience of a supersports car.

Many of our customers are highly successful business people who wish to sense the same intensity in their automobile as they do in their lives generally - every second they spend at the wheel.

With the same dedication which is so often the secret of our customers' success, our engineers have created an incomparable car.

With the BMW M5 our aim is to make automobile dreams come true - and that means your dreams. Many of those waiting impatiently for the new BMW M5 know what I'm talking about.

Send us the dreams you personally associate with the new BMW M5.

We will send out invitations to some of those who send in their ideas within the Online Closed Room of M-Power.com. They will have the opportunity to take part in the last setup test drives and exclusive launch events for the new BMW M5

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

The sound of the S85 spoiled me rotten. The sound just doesn't compare but hopefully the performance will more than make up for it.

What exactly is so "new and fresh" about what he is doing?

I just don't see it... He is most definitely not staying true to the M brand. With the FI motors and weight. But the M5 was never all that light to begin with. Still the new M3 is not looking good at the moment to me at least.

The turbo engines and high powered SUVs are one thing... But remember the E39 had a V8... The E34 had an Inline 6... That is where the M5 came from. Not a 10 cylinder engine.

Was my opinion suppose to change since the last video that was the exact same thing without Dr.Seglar talking? Yep. To answer your question, Yes. It still sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

Yes do you see the progression they went from a NA 6 to an NA 8 to an NA 10 that was a natural progression and now they have added a turbo that is much different from past M cars period. Those high powered SUV's should be in the "is" class of BMW cars like the 335is not M.

You can blame Segler and M for a whole bunch of things, but one thing they had no control over was the weight of the F10 chassis. Just as reviews of the regular 5er show it suffers from its weight, the M5 will as well.

I expect it to be great anyway, but imagine what it could have been if BMW did not decide to take the 5 in a softer direction.

So according to your logic the new M5 should be a NA V12 and nothing less? Not gonna happen man, not with the stricter emissions laws etc.

BMW are trying the best they can to make great handling cars with powerful big engines that still rock your world when you drive them. I can't think of a single ///M car out there that is a disssapointment within it's class.

Every time something about M cars are a bit different people go up in arms, and time after time they get lauded as best in class. Why? Because BMW M know what they're doing, no matter the restrictions placed on them. Simple as that.

This ///M5 promises to be a monster
