Ambient lighting question for current F10 M5 owners

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Was the ambient lighting included in your M5? if so is it also the same color(red)? and if not was it available to order?

All US F10s have the item included, I was wondering if it was included or even an option on the M5.

Example picture from a F10 5XXi

I really like the look

The f10 m5 ambient lighting is option code 4UR. So it's not included standard but is an option.

Good to hear! I tried looking for this some where in the option list but I apparently failed. Thanks for the input

Ambient Lighting

Old thread, but I've never test driven an M5 at night. Is this what the ambient light looks like? If so, can you select the color of the light?

The light color is not selectable like the AMG's (white/blue/amber).

It is just BMW's standard orange hue.

I believe in the LCI it's now selectable from orange or white. My M135i is selectable white/orange

All UK cars come with this as standard.

It would've been nice if it was standard.

In a 2014 it is selectable. Standard or "Mode Modern." Mode Modern is a white (kind of a bluish white). Actually it's quite disappointing. It's quite dim even at its brightest setting. Standard appears much brighter. Since finding the option, I haven't bothered to use it, just like I don't bother with it in my Mini Cooper. In the Cooper though I keep it on cycling colors. At least that's kind of neat.

The ambient lighting is a standard feature on 2013's and 2014's for US spec cars. The user selectable lighting color is new for 2014, and should be on all US spec M5s.
