I picked the car up Friday, was only able to put 300 km on it less than I wanted, worked Saturday late so hope to put more km on it today.
I have not taken any pictures but will soon don't know if anyone wants anything specific or will just take some general pictures.

First Impressions, I love it, really enjoyed the ride very comfortable, air conditioned seats were great, did not notice active sound ( don't know what all the fuss was about from other contributors, maybe their hearing is better ).
I was busy trying to take in all the information and sites from the dash board, I will try and give a more comprehensive view a little later.

The only negative is I heard twice the clunk of the rear suspension as described by Singularity, also not the cars fault but the road, I got a stone chip in the passenger site rear window it also chipped the vertical black gloss frame at one side of the window. I will get it fixed or replaced at the 2000 km service.
I just took a quick picture with it in the driveway with my wifes X5M in background

^ Can you tell any big driving difference bewteen the X5M & M5 ? More so on the engine performance and your overall impression of the two, even though they are totally different types of vechicles.

Looks sweet. The rock chip is a pain in the rear - especially after just picking up the damn thing.

The comparison between the M5 and X5M at this point is basic info as The M5 is not done its break in period.

The start up sound is almost identical, the 2 cars sound the same in M1 on the M5 and M in the X5M, so far and its early the M5 gets way better gas mileage, the interior and cabin set up is similar just slightly different and updated. The instrument cluster is better in M5 than X5M
I have not really pushed the M5 yet but the X5M for an SUV is very fast.
I never noticed, my wife did that the M5 does not have a compass direction on the rear view mirror but her X5M does, not a big deal.

If you don't have the resources for both and need an SUV or SAV as BMW calls it get the X5M you won't be disappointed.

I am liking the M5 more and more, in fact I am leaving work early and taking the long way home
