Oil Change Video with some details
My daughter and I made a comprehensive yet amateur video describing the oil change process for anyone that might have some questions. If there is interest we can try to do more maintanence videos for the M5. Let us know.

oil change
Yes , that was a great input. Thank You for that !
I'm sure that this is not for everybody, but my car is out of warranty by now ( I think ) and therefore I already bought myself a filter and got MY special oil that I WILL use for my M5 . So I'm glad that I saw that video which will make my job much easier now since I do not have to look for the filter under the hood anymore ( spent last 10 min looking for the the filter housing ) . Happy man Thank You again |

What's your thought on 5-30 vs 0-40

For Germany I prefer the 0W-40. Has a better range for the temps here. I've had good results with no oil consumption. May have nothing to do the oil, but it works for me.

Question - M5 front oil drain point?
Good video. It was very helpful. Can you post a picture of the front drain point to remove the 1 additional quart of oil?
Thanks |

I don't believe there's another drain, you just have to have the front elevated and give it time to drain. I let mine drain for an hour or more while I do other stuff in the garage. It definitely drains a bunch more in that time.

F10 M5 oil lines are made this way that if you let oil drain 1h-1.5h and oil cap is off all oil drains out. Oil cooler takes time but just drain 1h all oil is out. 👍🏻

There is a plug at the bottom of the oil filter housing that lets you drain the oil filter before removal. You can still change oil without removing that plug but it can get messy. Make sure to have the proper metric Allen bit.

Are you saying this plug is on top of the cap on the filter housing? Got a picture?
