19's versus 20" 343m

I am doing ED order on Monte Carlo Blue and torn between stock 19's and upgrade to 20" 343s.

I prefer look of 343's but concerned about ride quality of 20's.

Input from the experts please.

Ok so you see no variance in ride quality among sizes?

Suggestion

343's they are impressively light. PSS in them are perfect fit. 20's no questions.

Ok talking code here. Are you referring to Michelin PSS tires?

I would rec the oem 20s without any hesitation! The PSS tires themselves are a bit loud. But ride quality is just fine with 20s.

20" wheel NO BRAINER! Different car without them, IMO. Check that box!

He might get the Pirelli's like I did. It seems most M5's are coming with them at the moment.

Both! But for me, the 20inch wheel with that huge brake, it's just spot on!

With the 19 the car loses some of it's exotic feel. Really a big difference I think.

Good input. I'm worried about the ride though but others have commented, no problem.

A bit off point, but I came out of a 550 with 19" runflats. I cannot even begin to explain how much better the M5, even in Sport Plus Mode, rides than my F10 550. I always knew the runflats sucked, but never knew just how bad until I got this car. F10 to F10, M5 with 20's is the nicer, more managed, and dare I say, smoother ride.

I am thinking this thread will be moved to the wheel/tire forum so see you over there!

Glad to hear the 20's ride ok as I certainly like the 343m look over the OEM 19's.

You also get a significant difference in overall comfort by adjusting tire pressure.

I just had aftermarket 20s installed in place of the OEM 601m - also 20 - and I was surprised by how harsh my ride had become.

Checked pressure and they had all set up around 40 psi cold. Backed that to 37 all around and it made a big difference - feels as before now.

The manual calls for 35 for normal driving under 100mph - and I believe that's what we get from the factory in the US.

Do you regret the 601's? Did not like the look?

I have the 343's. BUT, I have to say, the 601's need to be seen in person. In pics they seem to lose something. In person, beautiful!

But again, either way, GET THE 20" WHEEL!!!!
