Meistershaft valves open or closed?

Question for M5 group: I drive an m6 GC and just installed my Meisterschaft GTC EV controlled exhaust. I spoke with GT Haus today and they told me not close my valves if I am going over 2500 rpms due to excessive back pressure. As many of you know this set up is very aggressive sounding. My wife hates how loud it is and if I can't drive my car the way I want to with the valves closed I am frustrated. Closed valves bring the sound back to OEM sound which is a good option to have. Thx in advance for your insight.

This is the first ive heard of this. Im actually thinking of getting the same exhaust too because of the closed valve feature for when i dont want to make a scene. Curious to see what the other guys have to say about this

Had the exhaust on my M6 for over 20k miles. I kept the valves fully open most of the time but have also driven hard with them closed without any problems whatsoever.

I think the best answer is to see the result of dyno with both close and open valve...

Who at GTHAUS told you this as I just dont believe it? I have this exhaust for a while now. Ive spoken the guys at GTHAUS plenty of times before purchase, during install and couple times after. I have never heard of this at all. Doesnt even make any sense. Very curious who told you and exactly what was said. You may have misunderstood. I would bet thats the case here. Exhaust is fantastic for its ability to go from stock decibel levels to beastly with the touch of a remote control.

Pole position, the response I received was from one of their customer service reps. I do not recall the persons name and yes I heard him correctly. The reason I initially called was to ask about driving with the valves half way open as opposed to fully closed or open. I have a friend who had a valve lock up on him 1yr after install and wanted to ensure I was using them properly. The customer service rep said you can use them in any position, but he would caution using them closed at above 2500 rpms because the M6 engine needs to breathe. I agree this sounds crazy....this is why I came here for insight. I assume he was sharing his opinion vs fact. I agree the sound is incredible!

When I first installed on my M6, we did stock, closed, and open dyno (Mustang). Difference between closed and open is somewhere between 20-30hp from what I recall.
