+ 1 where did you get the wrap material in those exact colors? I have an IND grill that I don't want to take off and send back just to add the stripes, LI lasers already mounted perfectly

We're you able to do it without removing the grill from the car?

Thx!

You don't need to removing the grill from the car, just put them on directly.

Below is the link you can get the vinyl from
http://www.ebay.com/itm/370752469252...witem=&vxp=mtr

That really looks cool. Are those only strips of the three colors placed on the top rib of each vane or did you have to cover entirely each of those three vanes? Could you post a closeup picture?

C'mon man, if you can afford a $100K M5, and $100 gas fillup (is just change), so $8 dollars is mere "peanuts". Besides, you need spares as you may have to change the strips when dirt/grime gets on the edges as time passes.

That works too but I personally prefer stick ons as they are easy to remove in case one gets weary of them -- whereas having them painted on requires repainting or replacement of the grill.

Yea I havent thought that far ahead - im still waiting on my f10!

On a side note, are the grill inserts (the grill) on the stock grill actually black? If so wouldnt that piece detach and be re-useable?

It depends on certain models. I think all the model including the M series grille slit are black. Regular model of the kidney are chrome.

How difficult do you think they would be to remove later? How do you think they'll hold up to winter driving?

I believe what sr2003 is referring to are the vanes (or slits as he calls them) which are usually black in M cars and surrounding it is the oval chrome edge.
