And if you think this thread is a joke. Tell me why you always see Ads that state a car has never been driven in rain. That is no joke. No priest, no Rabbi no horse.....just tears. Which funnily enough look alot like rain.....The lord does work in mysterious ways....

Climate makes a big difference. A car I owned in NJ for 3 years looked worse after that period than a car (same model) I owned in CA for 14 years. That's why I used to lease on the East Coast, but I buy in CA.

As to "never driven in the rain" - take a look at the underside, wheel wells, suspension, etc. of such a car vs a car that's been driven in the rain, and you'll see the difference... Also, take a look after driving in the rain in areas where there's pollution and dirt, such as near quarries, etc.

Those are just some of the conditions that can destroy a BMW parked outside. Lets not forget:

Hail
Tornadoes
Sandstorms (SoCal is close to the Mojave desert)
Random gravitational singularities
Earthquakes
Cyclones

Plus

- Squirrels have been known to get in the engine bay and eat all the wiring
- Elves have been known to vandalize or even steal cars on dealer lots
- Homeless people have been know to take shelter by breaking car windows and then sleeping in the backseat while using the front passenger seat as a bathroom
- Registered democrat voters have been known to repossess these cars to give away to the lazy, oops , I mean disadvantaged
- Frenchmen getting confused that it might be New Years Eve and torching it
- Vancouver tourists smashing the car for recreational entertainment

Yep. The dealer lot is no place to store a BMW.
Haha democrats.. I wonder how many democrats drive the m5

I would be interested to see an honest poll.

Just sayin'

Like someone already said, your kinda screwed at this point.

MCB + sitting in lot= oil pump failure

I would call customer service (make sure to ask for the Ohio group) to try and get compensation.

At least get the dealer's paint protection...

The dealership I bought it from is pretty crappy (but they have the best price), so basically the only inside place they have is the showroom.

Obviously we are messing with you.however if you are really concerned you could buy a car cover and have them put the car cover on the car. It you do this make sure they wash the car before putting the cover on it. At least that will stop window shoppers from touching the car a lot.

I wouldn't bother with a full detail until you take delivery.
