Can't wait to see the final finished product. My hunch is DCT only for the M5. The dash, headliner, and wheels look great in these spy pics.

Am I the only one who finds the centre console way too high and obtrusive? When I sit in the F10 it painfully pokes my right shin.

I still dont understand why the M5 doesnt have this shape under the headlights but the M-sport does. terrible mistake right there anyone agree? this would make it look more aggressive for the most part.

So *effing* what? The M5 E60 was sold with a manual and it was criticized, slower than the M5 with SMG and nobody bought it. BMW learned a lesson with the failure of the manual M5 E60: Don't listen to the so-called internet forum purists, because they are full of s***.

There is a complete disconnect from the driving experience with an auto tranny or those flappy little things called paddle shifters. There is no doubt though, that today's dual clutch/PDK/SMG/F1 shifters/whatever you want to call them, are faster than any human. |

The M5 does NOT weigh 2 tons. In either case, what mass produced cars don't weigh between 3500-4200 pounds nowadays? Also, regardless of the tech in the car, a seasoned driver definitely notices weight differences...that's pretty basic. And that has nothing to do with auto vs manual so I'm not really sure how your point is relevant. Every car has some element of assisted steering. That has nothing to do with the engine or transmission. So again, I don't see how your point is irrelevant. Am I the only person on this thread that appreciates the subtle (and blatant) differences between a manual and automatic? It appears so. If this thread is a microcosm of 5 series and M5 buyers, BMW must have made the right choice in not offering a manual option! I am shocked though. |
