Dyno and 60-130MPH Time

Hello gents,

Recently dynoed my car and did some Vbox runs. Dyno was at EAS in Anaheim. We did 4th and 5th gear pulls because my car still has the stock speed limiter. 60-130 Vbox time (7.4s) is not great. It's basically 3rd into 4th as 2nd and even some of 3rd was struggling with traction with 305 Pirellis in the rear.

Car is on 91 Oct. + 3 gallons of E85, has charcoal filter delete, OEM DPs decatted, SSP Spec-R clutch packs, and BPM Stage II tune.

pirelli's in any width are beyond terrible

why not just go for sport cup 2's living in socal?

nice dyno results, didnt opt for taking off the 155 speed limiter on your BPM tune?

Looks good - with some better tires you could likely dip to the 6.9 range.

Although I am baffled why your speed limiter is on especially given your mod list?!

I still don't have a VBox but will have to get one since I don't want to do standing starts at the strip. I tried the BPM stage II at first and for my use of the car on road courses occasionally it felt too strong! For me the car is a handful even with stock power, and the stage II came on too powerfully. So, stage I with de-catted DPs and like you I get wheel spin briefly in 3rd gear with 305 Michelin PSS. That happens even on the freeway in 3rd with sudden full throttle at 70, so I've learned to ease it on. That seems so strange, but I've never had a car this powerful. I agree with Somer, Sport Cup 2 will work best since I don't drive in the winter anyway.

Why didn't you eliminate the top speed limiter? I'd love to see a legitimate 200 some day if I can ever find a safe place to try it.

You definitely have the power to go faster, but can understand not wanting to have to deal with axles/drive shafts with stickier tires. Good numbers

Almost everyone says that lol. I am thinking that is the last line of safety just in case.

I would like to see a torque curve that is not so abrupt, too. It's crazy how the torque just comes on and hits max like that.
I only have about ~1 mile of empty safe straight road at the right time. I am not crazy enough to try 200mph even if there is a safe environment to do so haha.

I've heard some bad stuff regarding R888R being too stiff and causing transmission and drive train issues when driven hard on other platforms.. the Cup 2s might be next for me.

Don't launch the R888's... its for straight line. Stick to something that dead hooks if you want to launch (like MT's).

Right that seems to be the complaint. But what if even in 2nd gear and they don't hook up completely and skids? If that's possible at this power level?

How do the Cup 2s compare to R888?

Both are good, I think R888's grip better. I got a set of R888R's... and at 700whp (when warmed) they can do 2nd gear. Supposedly the new R version is more compliant on the sidewall.

Not a problem to retune it to come on more gradually. Some have requested that to prevent wheel spin. Hope you are enjoying it!
