Purchasing Question M5

Has anyone had any issues with Dealers pulling cars from other dealers. Reason why I ask is I signed a deal for a 2014 M5 with my dealer and now they telling me that the car got sold. I got the VIN of the car so I located the dealer who has and I called them and they are telling me that its not sold?

Has anyone ever had this issue ? The annoying fact is all the damn time wasted! and paper work

i actually had the same issue while getting my 2014. I wanted an individual color of which only one existed in the country. i didn't know it even existed until my dealer told me. so my home dealer went and tried to make the dealer transfer and when my sales manager called they said the vehicle was sold. My sales rep then called posing as a customer and they said it was still available. The dealer that had the car then somehow got my info and called me to make a deal directly with me but they were nowhere in the ball park of what my home dealer was willing to do so i basically told them to go kick rocks, and in turn the dealer told me no way were they going to transfer the car. My dealers GM then called the other dealers GM and traded an X5 allocation and got the deal done. work with your dealer and do the research and see what comes of it. usually if another dealer know they have a lead then they would rather do business directly with you since they know you want the car, more money to be made. but i'd stick with dealer you originally worked with and see if they can't get the tranfer done, mine took a week or so but they made it happen and i got a great deal too.

Been going back and forth with My dealer he is having no luck getting the car. So they decide to keep the deal and do a Factory Build kind of sucks cause I thought I was going to have this weekend. Have to wait now But might be better this way!

so the final deal that I got was

112k MSRP BMW Build since they didn't have any in the area with the options I wanted.

1k out of pocket
61% residual
0.00137 they refuse to go any lower they started @ .00014

I traded in my current lease I got 74k for trade and the buy out is $66500.00

I was told they took $7500.00 off MSRP

35 Payments @ total $1175.00 a month this includes 7% a month sale tax.

I think you can do better man... check the boards depending on where you are but Cali seems to have the best deals.... I was looking at a 120+ K MSRP car today with 83 miles for 108K I didnt go any further in numbers but I think especially with the other deals you could have gotten a bit lower.

I went to four dealers in RI, CT and Mass the don't seem to move much. The other issue is not to many M5's on the lots out here.

You trade in a lease vehicle?

I tried plugging your numbers in a lease calculator and the numbers are way off. Your trade must have reduced net capitalized cost. With knowing your exact net capitalized cost and net purchase price, it is impossible to know whether you have a good or bad deal.

What other numbers are needed ? the lease buy out was $66500.00 I was told I got 74k for my 2013. The selling price of the new car was around 104k and a accusation fee of 925.00. They used $7500.00 from the 2013 towards the new car.

So did you get $7500 off the MSRP as a price reduction on the vehicle? Or did you apply the excess money leftover after trading in the lease car toward capitalized cost reduction? Or both? Both numbers happen to $7500 so it is not clear whether they are the same thing or two independent numbers.

Why don't you ask your dealer to give you a screenshot of the lease calculation and post it here? All legitimate dealers will provide you that set of numbers.

Yes they took 7500 off the msrp and 7000 k from the lease the payoff was 66500 and they gave me 74000 for the 2013. The total price for the 2014 was 104,125.00 after discount. Msrp was 111,625.00.
Around 1000.00 for reg and acquisition fee.

Yes they did apply both towards the new lease

A price reduction and or applying to capitalized cost are the same thing. Capitalized cost is what you are financing in the lease: purchase price less any upfront payments. Reducing the purchase price directly reduces the capitalized cost.

Actually price reduction and capitalized cost reduction are not necessary the same thing. Price reduction on MSRP comes out from the dealer pocket. Capitalized cost reduction can be a down payment paid by the buyer or a price concession by the dealer. They would have the same impact on calculating the monthly lease payment but they are being paid by different parties.

After applying $14,500 to the capitalized cost reduction, I get $1105 (incl tax) per month on a 36 months lease. Getting closer but still off.

Did you add the Acquisition Fee 925.00 ? Plus 100.00 for reg. I'm close showing me 1159.25 but I only put down 1 k. so is there a way to remove 159.25?

Im off by 15.00 bucks. Their must be some other fees ? Im going to call them and get all the numbers in detail.

Even if you roll the $1025 fees to the lease, that should be around $30/month in payment. If you are buying in the Northeast there will be dealer documentation fees that range between $199 to $499.

The best thing is to ask for a printout of the lease calculation which shows all the numbers.
