Christmas present from my 11 year old daughter

Hey Dad, how about a nasty ding on your beautiful car!

My twins are usually careful around my car, but she wasn't paying attention this and the bottom corner of the rear Explorer door caught it. Can it at least be pulled out with paintless dent repair? It actually looks quite a bit worse in person. I do have some touchup paint coming from automotivetouchup.com that could help hide it a bit.

Paintless dent guys can work miracles, but I don't know if you'll ever be able to touch-up a frozen color and it look worth a shit.
My son did something similar to mine a few months ago. Probably a bigger dent but the paint wasn't damaged. Paintless guy knocked it out in 10 minutes.

PDR can make that perfect, no painting. Probably $125

Just came here to sympathize. That one hurts.

I think PDR will be tough on that one due to the paint chip, shape of dent, and location. You'll probably get better results with traditional body work from a reputable place.

Scratch is not thru the base coat, as can be seen in the pic of the dent with all silver showing. It’s in one of the easiest areas to access on a flat panel, not anywhere near a body line.

Any reputable PDR guy can fix this.

I believe a good PDR tech can remove this one without an issue, they would probably go through the trunk or taillight!!
Good luck , Keep us posted

That's nothing lol you could do it yourself, just push a flat head of a hammer to straighten then a bit of glass paper and a dab of paint.

Finally went by BMW Collision in Houston, and they put me in touch with their PDR guy. Name is David, 832-523-0823. $120 and he went up through the wheelwell and massaged that sucker out. I had some touchup paint from Automotive touchup and it looks as good as it's going to. It's much easier to tell the difference in person.

That's come up fairly well all things considered.

Not easy to do paint touch ups on frozen/matte paints given that you can't wetsand and polish once you've filled the chipped area.
