Blackstone oil analysis at 141,000 miles

Thought I'd share the results here. Looks good to me. Engine doesn't seem to mind the miles and fun driving at all.

You kept the same oil for 12,000 miles?

Yeah, that was a guess. I couldn't remember my last oil change reading. It was likely more like around 9k. 12k was the upper limit so we just went with that.

The base is liqui moly which is what I used again.

Wow! Why do you keep it so long? And here I am thinking of switching to changing it at 3500mi vs 4000mi

The engine must have had some work done on it previously like having rod bearings replaced, what liqui moly grade do you use.

Jesus, good for you man. It seems like S63TU ownership is such a dice roll. Some have your luck, and some blow up unannounced with 40k miles. I've owned my 13 M6 for 6 months and only put 1,000 miles on it. I'm still terrified of it LOL but that's not why I don't drive it often

I just don't have enough free time to stay on top of it so often. The miles just keep rolling on.

I've owned it since it had about 30k miles. The only big repair was the fuel sending unit under the back seat a few years back.

I try to stick to 10w-60. I grab two of these and keep the extra for top-up: "Liqui Moly 2024 Synthoil Race Tech GT1 10W-60 Motor Oil - 5 Liter"

You run 10w-60?

Thanks for posting this, great to see how it's performing as the miles tick by.

My experience with BMWs of a somewhat broad variety is that they need/like to be run hard (not abused) and perform best long term with that kind of use. I sold my e90 to my brother a few years ago (328i 6-speed) with 210k on it and it ran as good as it did when I bought it. Always used right spec oil, kept the intervals reasonable and warmed it up before getting into it. He still loves the car and has no problem taking it to Oregon, Utah etc. Had the same results with an e24, 2002, v8 x5…

Our M5 leaks/uses zero oil between 5k changes and it just seems like a well built tank. I plan to maintain it just like the others and hope I have the same results as you.

I got 250k out of a E90 330i. Wheel bearing began to fail. In combination of due break/rotor service the cost of getting everything serviced was more than it was worth.

There was nothing wrong with the drivetrain though.
