I know the service manager at Momentum BMW on 59. Let me know if you'd like an introduction.

Momentum sucks, but it's the easiest to get into.

I have a dedicated tech for anything done to my car @ Momentum West. I do all my own work, except the bare minimum at the dealer to fulfill BMW warranty. (In other words, mine gets about 3X the oil changes with the oil I use. ) I then take my oil to Momentum West and the tech uses my oil, and only puts in as much as I direct him to. If you want his name I can furnish it. They did my 1,200 mile FWIW.

I have been using Advantage downtown, since I work downtown. I happened to buy my M5 there and so clearly will be using them. I have 600 miles on mine and already have an appointment for next week upon return from a Fort Worth trip. I generally have been happy with them, they did service my 2008 750 and 2012 650. What I can say is that when I had to replace my 3 month old 65o engine due to driving in high water, they did a great job. When I got the car back, I had only one small follow up, and never had another issue over the 2+ years I drove it with the new engine. SO given it was a full engine replacement and it was well done, I would say use them if convenient.

...a bit of a stretch, but I've only had great experiences at BMW of Austin. They're a lot more involved with M-cars too!

Random question: How long do 1,200 mile services take? I was told over 3 hours.

That's exactly what my problem is with the dealers in Houston. They are not experts in M-cars at all. I've never had an issue with the service on my 750, but the M-cars need much more attention to detail and a specific service manager that deals with the M-cars primarily. Haven't found that dealer yet in Houston. I wonder if the GTR guys have the same problem with Nissan?
