Not me. Too big and way overpriced. Plus I don't think that they are going to offer the 2014 M6GC with any kind of Competition Package. Lol!

Also, maybe it is just me...but I prefer sedans that were orginally conceived and designed as strictly sedans and not just elongated coupes with almost a kind of a "stretch limo" effect. |

I'm passing too, not really keen on the looks. But I am driving it at COTA in June. Looking forward to seeing how it compares on the track to the M5/6, just for comparison sake.

I saw a regular 6GC and I honestly don't like it (always a subjective thing)...and as mentioned the price is outrageous for no power difference, etc. Plus I'm actually very happy with my 2013 M5 with all its foibles. Just my $.02

I was going to order either San Marino Blue or Frozen Gray, with Full Opal White Individual leather, White ash wood trim, Executive Package, DA package and B&O.

I already have an M6 coupe but just for the sake of change I might do it... White with sakhir or black interior.

From the beginning I didn't like the design of the current 6. However, as more and more photos of the m6 gc surface I find myself appreciating the beauty of it and the regular 6 and 6gc. I just can't justify the price increase for similar performance. I do really want to see one in pure metal silver. Finally, a decent new paint color instead of all these frozen colors. I'll admit when frozen gray came out I thought it was amazing...but now enough is enough with the frozen colors.

Nope. Not a fan. Even if priced the same as an M5. If I wanted a weird looking 4 door sports car would have went with a Panamera.

For anyone considering, have you drove or sat in a gran coupe? I'm 6'1 and felt claustrophobic in it. Hair was hitting the headliner, and you can maybe sit a baby behind my seat. My brother has a CLS and it feels roomier IMO. Gorgeous car but impractical.

The M5 is the original M car and will always be the classic M for that reason alone (M3 came right after, so I'll also give it classic status). The others M models that have since come along in the last few years hold no interest for me as M cars since there are plenty of other equal or better performance options with other brands. Thus, if it's not an M5 (or M3), I rather save the money and drive one of the non-M models because it just wouldn't feel "special" to me.
As for looks, the 6GC looks decent, but it's not my cup of tea. I don't know who could fit into the back of it. If you're over 6ft, then forget it. Even getting into the front seats are tough with the smaller entry opening (and I'm fit, but tall). This concept really reminds me of X6 -- BMW clearly has identified a target market that will put looks ahead of just about all else (i.e. legacy of the brand, driving performance). The cars are wildly impractical, but seem to gain appreciation by those who really don't care much about anything other than how the vehicle looks (unless you're really tiny have really tiny stuff -- then, the practicality may not be an issue). Perhaps BMW has determined that the M buyer today is different. It's not the guy who has followed the storied brand since inception and always aspired to be able to park an M in his garage and enjoy it the way it was meant to be enjoyed, for years to come. Maybe now their buyer just wants the next best thing with a badge that is associated with a high price tag. |
