F*****G Brakes

After 6 months of toing and froing with Dick Lovett they have finally admitted there is a problem with my brake pads and its not down to wear and tear!!!! Out of the goodness of their hearts they have ordered a new set and they will be fitted next week!!!
Hopefully this will end a chapter that has put a bit of a dampener on the ownership of this wonderful car.
I might be able to hear the engine now.

I think they must "squeal" as his original post did mention he would like to "hear" the engine now lol

Sorry, yes I have major squealing brakes, it sounds like a freight train stopping!!
Its become a bit embarrassing to stop anywhere. Dick Lovett have repeatedly said this is normal, how can it be normal on a car that costs this much?
Anyway, roll on Thursday, hopefully cured but wont hold my breath!!!

Ever heard the brake sequel from top of the range Ferrari and Lamborghini models ?

This type of design is very difficult to keep quite, but stops the best.

Well, got the car back Thursday with new brakes all round, which include an upgrade to the springs? Never knew my brake pads had springs on them!
It looks like it has solved it, not a squeak!! Gave it a thrash on the weekend, performance of the brakes appears exactly the same but does feel a bit spongier on light braking.
They have admitted there is a problem with the M5 F10 brakes and are in the process of recalling their cars, Dick Lovett that is, not sure its a BMW UK thing yet.
Anyway, one very happy camper here!

Good to hear you've got it sorted.

Dick Lovett is the same dealership I use so I'll be interested to hear more about any recall they've mentioned. Was it Bristol you used?

Now get out there and give it some more 'testing'

So far so good for me thankfully.

I'm almost afraid to enquire with them in case they do the fix and they come back squeaky. I put up with squeaky brakes on a previous car which tainted the experience.

Barely hear the squeak. If I brake hard it seems to go away for a while. Was worse on my 13 M5.
