Very nice car and excellent photos.

I am two weeks away from picking up mine. After seeing your photos I am certain I made the right choice of vehicle: 2014 LCI CP 601, B&O, Exec/Premium Package. However, I took a more conservative route on colours. SG, Blk. In hindsight I should have gone with the SO interior.

Subject: BMW F10 M5 Missing Side Adjustment

To whom it may concern,

I just purchased my F10 M5 which was delivered on August 27.When I originally ordered this car your documentation reflected 20 way power adjustable seats with side adjustments. Upon car delivery the side adjustable support mechanism is missing. Im very disappointed the seats are missing this feature making them only 18 way adjustable seats now, which is clearly different than what I ordered. My dealer has directed my to you to resolve this matter

I look forward to a resolution of this matter, either a seat replacement or financial credit.

Thank You,
I have the same email(s). Ready to resend. PM me if you move on this Niko or @RPiM5

CURSE YOU BMW GODS!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude AWESOME! You may be the very first person with adjustable side bolster buttons on the F10 M5! Well, if they are in fact them, I'm glad that BMW FINALLY LISTENED!!! Maybe we all had something to do with this after our MASSIVE campaign last year to find an answer as to why they were not included.

This doesn't piss me off, but rather gives me hope. OP you have to report to us on how they feel.

Side Bolster AWESOMENESS aside, I can really tell the difference in ride height with the new Comp Pack Springs. ME WANT!

Damn, you gotta good looking car man!
Nice car OP, stunning combo! I almost cancelled my order after hearing about missing lumbar support but was told it would never be an option in NA and not to stress. RPi I still think BMW punched us in the face hehehe

Your color combination is absolutely gorgeous. It's sooooooooooooooo beautiful!

Congratulations! Your car will NOT blend in with all of the "me too" cars on the road.

uhn, RPI and Niko - I've been following the side bolster issue as closely as you've been. But I think if you read closely, you may believe BMW on this one.

Don't get me wrong, I think BMW f'ed up with the initial advertising of 20-way seats that ended up being 18-way without the adjustable side bolster. Then - eventually - the DOT story came out. But it rings true to me due the way BMW has fitted the side bolsters in the North American LCI. The new bolsters are not like the ones that we had in our E60s or like the ones in the current 6ers. They are not mechanical. They're pneumatic (which is especially too bad since I'll bet they've lost the feature of "opening up" when you open the front door).

But my point is that if BMW had to design and install a whole new type of adjustable side bolster, they must have had a real - not fake - problem with the original F10s.

Just my thought and my $0.02.

I have at the moment the 330D M Sport touring with "Side Bolster adjustment", yes it is Pneumatic and very effective, my new LCI coming 1st September has the 20 way seats which I have tried in the M5 they are again Pneumatic and very good.

Whats the problem!!!?.
They are like that for weight saving obviously.

Interesting take. When BMW released the Official Bulletin last year, they stated that the 20-Way seats were never supposed to be a part of the F10 M5. Here we are a year later and now we have 20-Way seats with Adjustable Side Bolsters. I personally think that due to our campaign to find an answer they fixed the issue. Keep in mind they re-included the adjustable side bolsters in the 2014 M5's without making any kind of announcement. When they updated the 2014 M5 page on BMWUSA, the features and specs page now say 20-Way seats. Less than a month ago, it used to say 18-Way Seats, and then from May 2012 to July 2012, it said 20-Way.

It's been an issue on this side of the pond for some of us that really like and expected this feature. Inaccurate published specs . . . what appeared to be BMW stonewalling . . . and then a questionable explanation. All in all, it exposes one more crazed fixation of some Bimmerpost members. Shocking.

I don't know. Maybe you're right. johnbmw6 says they've got pneumatic bolsters over there too.

Exactly...and I could care less if they are pneumatic, electric, hydraulic, water powered, etc. I slide around too much when pushing the car and part of the reason I liked my E60 was the side bolsters in the sport seat. Not active, but just having them.

I wish they were water powered. I'd fill my bolsters up with Root Beer and connect a straw system so that when ever I wanted Root Beer I could have some while driving.

not sure but the design looks identical to the design in my current non LCI, even the man page is the same. they work ok but are not as good as the E60 ones.
