Typical lease rates

I just got a call on my 550i xdrive where BMW will do a buyback. They offered me a few lease deals but I wanted to see what some people had paid on M5s recently on a 3 year term

hey pochesq,

I'm new to this site and was not able to reply to your message through the message option, but to answer your question I am interested in getting a white exterior/orange interior with the executive package, bang and olfusen, and 20 inch wheels. Thanx.

I'm going to try. There are at least 2 SoCal dealers with more than 10 units on their lots. They gotta be itching to move them. If you are interested, then please post your color/option combo and I will see if we get any bites.

Yes but NY is an upfront state so your taxes on the full price of the car are due at the time of leasing. In Cali we only pay taxes on each payment and any net cap reduction. So our leases will always appear to be less even if you paid the same exact price and had the same terms, money factor, and mileage limitations.

Hmm, Not true. Simple example, if taxes are 10k, you can roll that into each monthly payment, hence @ 277 in taxes per month.

I was talking sales tax on the purchase... in NY you would have to pay the sales tax UP FRONT on the price negotiated for the car... we dont have to pay sales tax on the price just sales tax on the payment:

so our net cap could be 90k and lets say your price is 90k- assume 10% tax on the purchase; we dont pay 9k on top of the 90k so essentially our 90k is the final price. In NY you would pay 99k or like you said 90k and roll the 9k in to the taxes...

You pay more because we only pay taxes on the terms monthly payments (24, 26, 48, etc) while you pay tax on the full price of the car. If I did a 36 month lease and our figures were the same (residual, money factor, purchase price, term, license, etc) I would only pay taxes on each monthly payment while you would either pay the taxes of the full purchase price up front elevating your net cap cost or roll them into the payment.

if we both paid 90k and taxes are 10% you would pay 9k... I would pay 10% on the payments of the term but not of the entire price.

We dont pay tax on the full price of the car since Cali is not an up front state on leases. Hope this made more sense.

How much of that $7k is cap reduction? Is that 1249 w/ tax?

Plus tax. LA Times advertisement but I don't know how to upload pix here. Call them if you are interested but I'm waiting for better deals with LCI around the corner or I'll get LCI.
