If I wasn't told it's a 10,000 dollar paint I'd say it's the regular silver they offer for $550. At least from the pics. They don't show much.

Congrats OP . Great car and stunning colour. PMS is my #1 choice in colour but sadly too expensive for me .

Question though, how come your M5 does not have the competition pack wheels ?

A lot of people probably think the M5 is absurd in any color. It typically is a $100k car. The threadstarter didn't hit me up for a loan for the paint job and I have no problem with him spending his money the way he wants.
I've had the privilege of driving a M5, and they are very nice cars. I choose to spend my money on other things, but to each his own. Notice I wasn't bashing the man for having/spending money, but more criticizing BMW for charging a lot of money for a paint job. It's a nice color, though, and I'm aware it is more labor intensive to apply to a vehicle.

Riiiight? Porsche, where you can option leather vent slats for the air conditioning system on your Panamera for $2,505... or a leather rearview mirror for $675... or leather sun visors for $740... or a leather steering column casing for $855

Ok, so some, or even most people wouldn't buy this, but that's the entire point. Why must we call him "stupid" or "ridiculous"? He has different wants than you, that doesn't make him stupid, just you ignorant for calling him that.

Agree, and perhaps the OP has a much different disposable income than others. Haters will be haters. It's a beautiful color and looks nothing like the base silver BMW offers.

The competition package wheels are cast and the 5 spoke 343's I got are forged and supposedly lighter. The 343's are a no cost option with the competition package.

His car has the 343M wheels because that's what he ordered. They're optional with the competition pack at no extra cost.

They're also forged light alloy wheels, the 601M wheels are not forged alloy, they're heavier and cheaper cast alloy wheels. Each 601M wheel is 5 lbs heavier than the 343M wheel. If you price the 343M wheel through the parts department, they're a few hundred dollars each more expensive than the 601M wheels.

It's just a matter of personal preference. The 601M wheels are standard with the competition pack but the 343M wheels are available as an option for those who prefer forged alloy wheels.

Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Ignore the haters, 99% of them will never be able to afford an M5.

Enjoy it and feel free to share more pics anytime!

The pics at night really make the color stand out. I'd love to see it in person as I'm sure the pics just don't do it justice.

As for all the pricks that just want to yap it's really only because they aren't anywhere near being able to afford something like this. Its not you, not your money so please just stfu. if you don't like the color fine but save your horseshit personal opinions about OP's decision to spend money to yourself.

Thanks for sharing sealionbeast

Day pics don't do it justice but night pics are 😳 amazing!!

Is this officially the most expensive M5 in existence? Were there any options left out?

Enjoy in good health

That money was "well spent"
What's up with people trashing on him for the color on a $140,000 car. Got news for you.....you may think he's stupid for spending $10k on a color that you feel most people won't know the difference. Other people might think you are stupid for spending $60k on a M3 that most people won't know the difference from a 6-year old, entry-level 328i. Just sayin.....

Looks beautiful......and yes, the competition wheels and the Style 433 (on M6 GC) are both cast and indeed heavier.

Does BMW charge that much for all Individual colors? Or just the metal?

OMG. ¡
The car looks great, this painting is really changing a light silver gray.
Metal flakes are incredible.
You should be proud to have chosen Pure Silver Metal, enjoy your great car.

Smart choice

It was the same on the E9X, where the ZCP (competition pack) wheels were cast and heavier than the standard forged 19s. I did not it also wad the case for the F10.
