For stock M5 rims, give the Ferrari spec 295/35R20s I talked about earlier in the thread a shot.
I've been running them for 18k+ miles and they return the same aggressive overlap as the pictures shown in this thead by others as well as giving you more contact patch. You can still pair them with a 275 up from if that is what you desire. |

Interesting... I've looked at the other pics but would really like seeing pics of your setup. What fronts are you running? Any issues with part throttle response?

Yes I'm seriously considering sport cups. The size thing is less about traction (10mm more section width isn't much and doesn't always mean the same increase in tread width) and more about looks and a little more rubber to protect the rim against curb rash.

Since I couldn't find a lot of pics from this angle, this is what a 305/30-20 P-Zero looks like on a stock 343M wheel. I prefer the look of the Michelins, but I wanted these to match my fronts, which have a fair amount of life left. The traction is an improvement. I did have 10mm spacers on the back, but there would definitely be fender contact, so I left them off and I don't think it needs it with these tires.

Probably fine unless you're running at a road course where you incur higher g-forces.

I don't think it's an issue, the traction improvement is great.

Still 265s but I'll swap them up once I've worked through them to 275s. There is more understeer right now than I would care to admit but off the lights the wider rears have really helped the car..

+ 1 on this question. Going to the 305's for the same reason - tires go up in smoke with the MSR and DP's.

Considering 305s as well on stock rims. Currently have 12mm spacers - anybody have this set up with spacers? Or is is necessary to drop the spacers?

275 fits but it makes your steering wheel heavier and slightly changes the camber

Thanks, then 265f/305r seems like a safer option even though 305s will also slightly modify handling characteristics of the car, right? I'll be doing it on the M5, stock 343M, not the M6 wheels.
