I pushed very hard for an extended warranty. BMW flat out said that would not happen. I settled for the 1500 when It became clear the extended warranty was not an option.

Call the 800 number on the bmwusa.com website for customer service. Tell them you want to be compensated for the oil pump issue, they will assign a case manager that will call you back

Are only thoose that had taken delivery already being compensated or others as well? My car was at vpc when the recall happened and as a result stay'd there for an extra month, so will i have a shot at compensation too?

It all depends on how you were inconvenienced. They will compensate you and they seem to be taking things on an individual basis. Contacting BMWNA myself and then having my dealer go to bat for me finally got things done.

I called BMW Canada.
Zero compensation.
But the rep was sorry for my inconvenience, so that was really nice.
21 days without my car, and I turned down a loaner. Not that I was ever really expecting anything as much as some of you guys are getting. Even if it is a different region, I think BMW should be consistent.

I would not stand for that at all.

Yes mine was confirmed over the phone, and when I picked up my car the dealer provided my compensation at delivery.

How long did that process take; from the time BMW NA confirmed check in the mail to you actually received the check?

Thanks in advance.

Called BMWNA on October 17th, no return call, emailed customer relations, 3rd time, and finally received a call today. Was told they would call my dealer to get the details on my service repair and look into compensation. This is a lease vehicle, I should not pay for days out of service enforced by BMWNA. They said I should get a return call in 3 to 5 days.

I feel like I'm getting the run around.

Dropped off car in Munich 9/4 after M event lunch. Car made it to VDC in New Jersey 9/26 and pump changed, and sent to the dealer on 10/6 and arrived on 10/8 3m clear bra, and tint added. Picked up on 10/12 and compensation provided at the dealer with an apology. Hope that tells the story, and BMWNA called me daily with updates. I was very kind to all the folks that helped, and there were a few set backs, but I knew it was not their fault it goes a long way. Good luck to all.

Did you make any calls to BMWNA or did they make these proactive communications and compensation all by themselves?

My first communication was email through the website. I detailed my concern, and the number of vehicles I have purchased from BMW. I also told them my car was not financed, and I had another purchase pending in 2013 so I would like this resolved fairly and quickly. I received a call in three days, and the above is basically a summary of my letter. Also I had a 2002 745i buy back which they offered so I'm sure they had a history file. Honestly I will be a BMW customer through the good and the bad stuff happens. I told them I would take whatever they thought was fair and that was it. Good luck

Just received a call from BMW. They said a rep from the NJ office would be contacting me in 3-5 days but with the hurricane damage it may be a bit longer. I have requested comp similar to what other members have received. Hopefully this will be closed soon so I can look at my beast with anticipation again rather than remember the month it was parked and useless.

I'll post updates as this progresses. Best of luck to everyone who is going through the same process!
