My 2014 F10 M5

Hi Guys

Greetings from sunny South Africa.
Just some back ground info- I am a confirmed petrol head like all of you and have had a checkered car history.
This ranges from VW Golf Rabbit to Nissan GTR and pretty much everything in between.
My current garage is filled with a Range Rover Sport, VW Golf Rabbit, BMW e36 M3 Turbo and my newly acquired BMW M5.

Having driven my brothers M5 two years ago I was instantly smitten with the car.
She possessed all the attributes I yearn for in a car as well as that x factor that simply gets under your skin.

Here in South Africa the F10 M5 was introduced in 2012.
We have a varied landscape here with a broad coastline and very high escarpment where I live (1680 above sea level).

So my bro's M5 2012- before JB made 497bhp @ the wheels- after JB/ filters and octane this rose to 638bhp- but we must consider that he lives at the coast.
Up here most M5's run between 490bhp and 540bhp with Akra.

At altitude, my 2014 M5 made 594 bhp- 447w before the spike at 503kw.
This was with 95Ron pump and 6Ron Octane booster.

Not believing this result I needed corroboration- hence me going to another dyno the next day.

She proceeded to put down 581 bhp- this time the car ran only on pump.

Now my question- why is my stock car making so much more power than all the others?
Wednesday car/ different spec for post facelift/ press tune car?

Looking forward to your thoughts.

Cheers

Clean living?

Just kidding, to me, Dyno results are mainly good from a before and after modification perspective. The best thing would be to add a tune and retest to see the delta.

Then again, maybe it already has a tune?

On a side note, I was in Joburg, Capetown and Lion Sands a couple of years ago and had a great time!

Welcome,

Dave

Hi Guys

Since my last post, I have made some changes to the M5.
JB, custom 90mm downpipes, air box snorkel blank off, 102 octane race fuel.
JB is set to 4psi.

Also I can confirm my car is post lci.

The car is simply undriveable.

I have run the car on numerous dyno's since the mods- including dyno days.
Have won them all- lol
The dyno pull in the clip was the last event I attended.
This pull was done in 5th gear.
Based on the other dyno runs the car makes between 510wkw to 525wkw- so I think this one was 5% too happy.

Any thoughts on where my car should be given these mods?
Am going to the track on the 29th so will have some real world data to share.
Currently am seeing 11.7s @ 128mph on the vbox- on the Michelins.

The plan is to run a decent shot of nitrous post this event.
Another question, what is the torque limit set on the DCT control module? Surely I must be close to breaching that with almost 1000nm.

Thanks for the help.
