A trackcation in a 6MT M6 Gran Coupe - 6 Road Courses across America
Posting this here also cause we're all one community really.
This is a pretty epic journey these guys did in an M6 Gran Coupe, travelling between all 6 tracks in the same car and driving on all of them. I would love to do something like this. I haven't driven one of these courses yet. It doesn't seem like the M6 Gran Coupe had any trouble on these courses, but the Carbon Brakes helped them out a lot for sure. For the M5 community I've driven the M6 Gran Coupe and I've been told that the F10 M5 is a better drivers car on the track than the M6 Gran Coupe, however I still agree with the authors 3rd bullet point on the last page after having driven my M5 on a road course too. Which leads me to the impression that I'd probably rather own an F80 M3 or even an E60 M5 to do track days with. Your just simply not fighting the weight with those cars. It's still fun though, and I guess learning how to produce a better lap time in an M5 could be more satisfying than another driver could do in a much lighter car. I'm not sure. What are everyone's thoughts about this? The authors sure did seem to enjoy a 6MT M6 Gran Coupe on the road courses. I'm guessing most people could too. http://www.roadandtrack.com/features...=1459_81279706

I do agree with you. M6 GC is a fantastic car (as the other M cars are) with no doubt, but since is bigger and heavier than M5, I expect M5 to be a better car in track... IMHO
