Double beep every minute

Got a 14 M5 that is beeping twice every minute in the cabin, pretty much continually, and it just started today. This is not the chime, but a set of beeps that sounds like an alarm on a digital watch.

Any thoughts?

Mark

Is the sound coming from the speakers?

Frontal collision warning sounds kind of like digital watch beeps, with red icon on HUD. Frontal collision turns on at every startup, so you have to manually disable with button below headlight control. You could try turning it off and see if you still hear it to try to rule this possibility out.

It appears to. The sound overrides whatever media is playing.

Annoyingly, today, it is gone.

I've had the collision warning system in my F80 for over three years, and I am intimately familiar with its alert sound (I drive it a LOT in traffic on the DC beltway), and I'm positive this isn't it. What I'm hearing is MUCH higher pitched.

Also, it was happening while I was parked in an empty lot, as well as when underway.

And, as I replied to another... Annoyingly, it decided not to happen today. So, I can't even reproduce at this time.

Thanks for the thought, though!

Mark

Grab your cell phone and record when it happens. I've gotten warranty work from cell phone video before of these gremlins that never show when the car is at the dealer.

Annoyingly ( and with relief ), this sound has not reappeared, so I don't have a recording. I will post if it recurs...
