I don't know, however, if the Gintani gains all came from their downpipes or the "tunes" or a combination of both. I wasn't looking for an additional tune when I got the Gintani "tunes". I only got the Gintani "tunes" because I was told about not receiving a CEL from the catless downpipes if I got the "tunes". So far, no CEL. I haven't had a chance to verify if the speed limiter removal is in fact working. No good roads in Dallas/Fort Worth, I need to get out of town soon. But probably should get vbox first so that I can share the results with everyone.
I contacted BMS last night in regards to running their setup and another companies flash.
Their reply was do not run BMS with another tune on the S63T engines.
Other engines he says it can work but depends on the engine and what ECU tune is being used.
Just wanted to post up what they said.

For what its worth, Gintani was very familiar with the BMS piggyback and said the Gintani flash tune was not conflicting with the piggyback. Perhaps they should put their heads together and put out a combo tune that competes with and is cheaper than Dinantronics.

I agree. That would be awesome.
Or with Cobb, BMS says that is the only tune that they recommend that works in conjunction with BMS on a N54 engine for example.
I am very interested on how your setup will turn out.
Thanks for the information. Cant wait for your follow up review on your tune.

Does a Cobb tune remove CELs for catless DPs?

I'm sure that is just what they tell the salespeople to say to avoid confusion. I know it depends on the details of each. For example most s63tu flash tunes are basically the comp flash. You can definitely use the Stage1 along with that to add 3psi or so. If your flash is more aggressive you may only be able to add 1psi or 2psi with the Stage1.

Interesting. Thanks for the information Mike.
I wish someone could talk to anyone there. Only thru emails and their reply's are always so short lol
I'll let someone else try it and see what their experience is. Not worth it to me to "try" something and something bad does happen.

Sorry for being so persistent. Still no CEL?? I spoke with Alex from Gintani today and i'm hoping to place an order of Catless DP's and their "Tune". Have you had any negative experience with either so far?? Thanks again.

No CEL. You may not want to get the "DCT Tune" if you also have BMS. Alex had to remove that tune on my car this evening because it was not working well with the BMS. Their "Engine Tune" is still working like a charm, however, I don't have a lot of miles on it just yet. Perhaps you want to wait another month or two to make sure Im still without a CEL. Your call.

Thanks so much for the update.

What sort of stuff happened with the DCT part of the tune conflicting with the BMS?

After a few weeks with the tune, I was getting weird exhaust sounds. At idle and revving the engine the note was garbled and not smooth. Soon thereafter the car was at times "jumpy" or " stuttered". Its a little hard to describe, but it wasn't normal. I mapped the BMS back to 0 and the problems persisted. Alex removed the DCT Tune, I put BMS back to 3.0, and all is well now. Alex is so helpful! Terrific service!

Good to know.

Other than being able to remove the CEL (which is great all by itself ) are there any advantages to the engine tune with or without the BMS

Thanks

Are any of the "tune files" from Gintani related to a company called OE Tuning ?
I also received a "flash tune" about 1 year ago and the tune had a lot of problems. I flashed my DME's back to stock right away because the car was making less power then stock and not running correctly.
OE Tuning and Gintani work closely together, at 1 point they were sharing dyno's.
So I'm curious since I have not heard much from OE Tuning lately if Jeremy has been working with Gintani now.

I believe OE tuning does the tuning for gintani. When I had the press file I didn't like the way the car ran at all.

Good info guys. Thanks for the updates.

Does anyone know of a way to keep the CEL light off without the added "tune"

I'll be getting a vbox soon and I can do some test runs to see how my car is performing.

That's what I was thinking. I heard at a local car meet someone else saying they are getting a flash tune but didn't say from who.
I mentioned OE tuning and he said yes.
I haven't heard the greatest feedback from that company. There are tons of posts regarding their owner and "stealing" files from other companies..blah blah blah.. I don't want to go off subject with any of that tho.

Regardless, cant wait to hear about this tune and hopefully comes out with great gains and finally a working flash tune.
