Break in period

So do I understand this correctly so after 1200 miles and the service you can accelerate as fast as possible and take it up to redline as long as you don't exceed the maximum speed of 137? That won't be an issue so it sounds like the real inconvenience will be keeping the rpm below 5,500 for the first 1,200 miles

Im pretty sure some believe even after the fact you shouldn't kill it immediately, but I dont think many have that will power. There was a thread floating around somewhere of a more precise complete break in. For me, once the 1200 miles was up I felt like it was fair game to open it up, and I own the car, not a lease.

There has also been speculation regarding oil consumption and break-in style, but none of thats proven and there is no verdict either way.

Maybe these were built on a Friday or Monday? I followed the correct break in with mine. Except 300 miles on interstate on the way home after purchase trying to vary RPMs as much as possible. I am just over 7k and haven't used any.

Do you know that 40% of the M5 problems occur on cars built on either Friday or Monday?

My car was built on a Saturday, which probably explains why I'm getting all the drivetrain malfunction errors

Nonsense. When someone can provide proof, or at least a pattern, I will listen. Until then, the whole "monday/friday" build thing is nothing.

Just provide something mathematical and we/I will listen. Until then, it's a huge, steaming, pile of bullshiiit.

Oh, so it was ACTUALLY a joke. Ok then. Some actually believe this crap. Usually guys who buy corvettes.

But they just don't understand it's the union, not the day of the build.
