Competition Suspension

Anyone know where I can find the pricing or have more information about getting Competition package suspension, or is it just the springs and the sways that are different?

If that is the case I'll probably just go with the competition springs.

Stiffer and lower suspension (shocks and springs) (10mm lower than standard M5).
Stiffer front axle bushings

Search is your friend here... you aren't going to be able to piecemeal order the comp package parts, so if you go for springs only you will have to be aftermarket.

"BIMMERPOST Q&A (answers are a mix of direct quotes, paraphrases and my own contributions):
Can Competition Package parts/software be retrofitted?
No, official retrofit support will not be provided by BMW here in the U.S. But, of course some parts can be retrofitted by individual owners if they went to enough lengths to do so. Some things would be easier of course, but steering and software would be difficult. The demand for retrofit is lower in U.S. due to the higher lease penetration and higher car turnover. In comparison, Europe supports retrofitting more than the U.S."

Competition Package is a bit of a change from baseline M5/M6:

That's for the quick input, I did a search but just wasn't satisfied with the answers I saw. I guess It's time for some aftermarket suspension or something. Appreciate your input Bobblehead and B-1 pilot.

I guess the easiest is to go coilovers. KW V3 would be one of the choice brand.

You can order the BMW M5 CP suspension parts. If that's the route you want to go. I already have some of the parts and I am waiting on the rest.

I heard great things about the KW V3, however it's worth noting that you will loose EDC if you go that route.

The anti roll bars are around $500. I'm thinking I might get those. I'm not interested in lowering or stiffer springs.

One thing I have noticed is the 2014 standard suspension is already more firm than the 2013 suspension.

Yeah you can do that without issue. Only if anyone gets the springs, they should get the struts as well.

The CP Suspension involves new:
Struts
Springs
Front sway bar (front sway bar links are the same)
Rear shocks
Rear sway bar
Rear sway links

Anyone knows the CP springs itself is (10mm) lower than non-CP springs? Or the CP shock is (10mm) lower? If the CP springs is 10mm lower, I would just order the spring and swap with my non-cp spring.....

I was also just thinking to do a spring swap as does it affect the drive modes when you go from comfort, to sport to sport plus in the suspension settings?

I've the comp pack coming on mine but I've already ordered h&r springs for it. I hope they are ok with the rest of the package?

The CP springs will give you the 10mm drop.

However it's probably not optimal or the best idea to combine CP spring with non CP shocks/struts.

It's probably also not a good idea to pair H&R springs designed for non-CP shocks with CP shocks.
