For a budding videographer this is shameful. Isn't that like the first day of photog 101 or something??

Wonder if theres a way to retro the M5 seats to the 6? Im assuming because the 6 is smaller inside the seats might be too big

That's an interesting idea, but I suspect you are on to something with them not fitting.

Yeah I doubt they fit, plus they are pretty heavy. Actually the M6 front seats in the European and UK market are pretty badass, but they don't come with ventilation. I'm surprised no one in the U.S. hasn't tried to retro-fit them yet. Lol!

I love my gc, but size is definitely smaller than the f10 and like others mentioned gc is actually longer. I switched from the 5 to 6 because the look of the gc can not be beat and they are fairly rare. I have 2 kids and because of this when the next gen M5 comes out several years from now I will probably switch back.

I've always been torn on this but at the end of the day I prefer the M5. M5 feels more spacious and has much nicer seats.

When I want to ride low and sleek, I have my Jaguar F Type R Coupe.

I agree with several others that the M5 looks too much like an M sport 5 series. I like the distinctive look of the M6 and the interior much better. I also think the m6 GC drives better than the m5 (as do the U.S. car mags). I think it has to do with the suspension tuning.

This past summer I was invited to the M power tour at a local track. I was driving my e92 m3 back then and It was interesting driving the new m's back to back. The m4 was light and nimble the m3 felt most composed, while the m5 extracted the most smiles
The m6 GC on the other hand felt like a pig on the track... Looks are subjective obviously and I like the look of both, it was the drive that disappointed. Turn in was sloppy and the chassis felt road oriented. Needless to say I now drive a F10 M5

BMW has admitted that the focus of the M6 Gran Coupe is more road-oriented. The suspension and throttle have been tuned to softer. Even though the M6 Gran Coupe is much more of a track car than the RS7. The RS7 is much much more of a highway bruiser than any M car though.

Cars come and go.. If I were in the M5 for the last two or three years I'd definitely jump over to the M6GC next. Not because its any better or worse... it's just different enough and change is good. ...and then I'd switch back to the nextgen M5 in a few years.

As far as for the Motor Trend editorial... I've grown tired of anything Jonny Lieberman blathers on about. I wish MT would give all his segments to Carlos Lago and move Jonny on already (just my subjective opinion here).

Car and driver had the same opinion which I found interesting and tend to agree with. Not saying the m5 is a bad car by any means, quite the opposite. I just prefer the m6 gc

Happy Holidays to all! I think this is all about change. I am driving a 2012 650i that was the launch car at one of the Houston Dealerships. I have had 7 BMW's over the years going back to my 1987 M6. The 650i, IMHO, is the most beautiful car MW has built, save for maybe the 8 series, Z8 or i8. I ordered my car way ahead of time and have loved, HOWEVER, it is very low and is very small inside (These are pluses and minuses). I love the look of the M6GC, and it was in consideration, until I got to drive many of the M's at the M school in June at the PDC. Ultimately my favorite was the M5, which is my next lease. My new Azurite and Amaro Individual Full leather M5 is at the Brunswick VPC, and I hope to have her for New Year's Eve.

So based on driving them, I was ready for something different. They are both beautiful, but I wanted a change...and a power trunk and sunroof. I also want some bigger seats and the ability to really have a few adults in the back.

I don't think you can go wrong either way, but if you want a change, go for it. Since money doesn't seem to be an issue, go for something new!

Excellent input! Thank you, i have to drive one tomorow and that will really help me make my decision. Even if i stay with the M5 i am going to have some fun moding the suspension and possibly doing downpipes win either way!
