recommended shift points? (MT)
Does anyone actually use these at all? After this morning's commute I have disabled this.
For kicks, I tried to do my morning commute by the recommended shift points, which are usually at 1500 rpms. I think it's to maximize fuel economy and to not engage the turbos but these shift points are totally useless. My cayenne has recommended points but are not this drastic. I don't think this saves significant fuel. I couldn't do it. I've never driven a Prius before, but the crazy BMW engineer that wanted to make the M5 drive like one must have been smoking green rather than trying to save green.

The recommended shift points are designed to maximize fuel efficiency and will produce better mileage but at the expense of the quality of my driving experience. |
