Wheel & Tire Insurance

Hey there.. I always buy the BMW Wheel & Tire insurance.. curious what it should cost for my new M5 with 20's? Anyone purchase it?

Dealer told me they would discount it to $2185... Is that good? Thanks

That's cheap! Is it the actual BMW insurance? The one they offered me covers wheels and tires, and has no ded.. PS. I am pretty sure of all of this, but will ask again.

I paid 1300 or so as well - actual BMW insurance - this one:

http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...rotection.aspx

I haven't tested this - and hopefully won't have to - but it supposedly also covers aftermarket wheels/tires, up to value of OEM.

This matters to me as I have a set of aftermarkets on order.

PS> I must buy the insurance at the dealer, correct? And I must also buy it at delivery as I understand it?

Update.. So I am frustrated. You guys are telling me a range of prices that sound good to me for the insurance.. I just spoke to my dealer. My car is on the ship now so we are working out the final details.

They are telling me they cannot do better than $2185. They said the cost of the insurance went up dramatically in the past few months.

Grrrrrr!

They quoted ~$1800, and dropped it to ~$1600 when I first declined. I don't think a deductible is required. Do you think it might be area/region adjusted? As in, higher prices for areas with more potholes, etc.

Good point. But I have no idea. The guy at my dealer was so "as a matter of fact too". He was like, we are not taking a dime off.

They ALWAYS drop their shorts on every MSRP for me. They are way below cost on my M5 and they let me order it.

Strange. They just won't budge.....
